I was thinking of setting up a high sec pos with corp hangar for storing ore. What do you guys think of the practicality of this?
I haven't ran any pos before so not sure how much a corp hangar can store m3 wise or what I'll need beside control tower + corp hangar array. I'm assuming defense isn't an issue since concord will defend the pos for me?
Thanks for your help

Try putting one up in the test server, it will give you a good idea of how much you need to haul to keep it running.
Oh and it can hold 1.4e+06 m3
That is 1,400,000 m3

a small would br great for this, a couple corp hangars would be more than enough to store the ore if you haul it out regularly. concord will protect your POS as long as you are not at war.

As long as you have the standings, I'd recommend that you do it (as long as your profit justifies your fuel expenses). If someone war-decs you then you take it down. Each corp hanger can store about 1,400,000 m3 of ore (or anything else).

This is an effective method of mining in high sec provided a couple of conditions are met.
- The target system needs to have good amounts of ore to make it worthwhile (not all high sec systems without stations have a lot of ore since you aren't the only person to have this thought)
- Ideally you should have a freighter available. A corp hangar (as mentioned already) can hold up to 1,400,000 m3. More than enough to hold a full freighter load. Making one freighter run is a lot more efficient than 20+ hauler runs
- Don't leave the POS running all the time since it's a waste of fuel. For example, if you are doing this as a corp op once a week or whatever, leave the tower in place. When you are finished the op, empty the hangar, unanchor it, scoop it and offline the tower. Next time you are starting to op, online the tower and anchor the hangar. A small tower will do and it takes maybe 30 minutes to get this set up. As long as you aren't at war even a small tower is practically invulnerable in high sec

For raw storage power, I suggest anchoring an Advanced Large Ship Assembly Array which will give you something outrageous like almost 20 MILLION m3 of storage.
One downside is that the assembly array takes up a good amount of resources and you probably won't be able to anchor/online much of anything else when using a small control tower.

It's a good way imo, I've used them and just a freighter to move the ore back to stations. Very good solution, but I recommend you do some calculations if it's worth it since the POS does cost ISK to run.
So is the time saved vs moving to station worth it ISK wise compared to fueling etc.

By all means you should do this if you enjoy the added tasks that running a POS brings.
On a cost and time basis however, you would be better off mining ore inside level 1 and level 2 missions that are in systems with stations. Get a mission and farm it for 5 or 6 days, then turn it in and repeat.
