Is it possible to capture and place a capsule (pod) in a cargohold for detainment in a CONCORD station? I want to capture a criminal in their capsule without killing them into my ship's cargohold and them lock them in a warehouse container in a CONCORD station for awaiting hearing and judgment by CSM.
Furthermore, I want to get a police license from CONCORD in order to do the above; capsuleers can't capture capsules without a police license and applicants must have at least 0.5 security standing to qualify for one.
If it is not possible, please refer to the developers to make it possible; it might slow down criminal activities in New Eden.

At first it was possible to scoop a pod to your cargohold, that was changed for obvious reasons

Hi. I meant without being podded. I don't want any clones getting killed. As for logging back in, the pod would be contained until CSM's sentence has been completed. The convicted criminal would be able to travel back to their home station and get a new ship.

Pods got a selfdestruct, not a good idea to put a bomb in your cargohold. ---

No. EVE is a game and people want to play. If you are locked in a box and can't do anything, how is that a game? I understand your incentive, but it isn't practically workable. So, no. There is no such game mechanic presently, and there never will be in the future.

I'm sure they could add an "arrest pod" feature, but the effects would have to be instantaneous...well, the pod would need a fair chance to escape...so say you can only "arrest" a criminal if you have them scrammed or something....or caught in a police web (new module only available to sheriffs...see below).
If somebody successfully arrests you, you get a fine and a standings loss similar to if you get caught with contraband. Immediate penalty and now you go back to your business.
The other thing is that you'd only be able to arrest somebody that aggressed you first or had an existing bounty, and only in lowsec, but not in nullsec (the cops take care of aggrssors in highsec quite well). This might breathe some interesting and unique mechanics to lowsec. You could couple ths feature with a bounty hunting minigame where you can get more bounty by "bringing the ciminal to justice", instead of the normal bounty mechanics.
Another thing you could do is make folks qualify for the position of "lowsec sherrif" through skill trianing or through security status, or both.
The idea has some fun angles.

I can think of only one reason, jury of our peers looking down on us delivering flawed justice and an oppertunity for us all to laugh at those whose judicial system this is for real.

Is it possible to capture and place a capsule (pod) in a cargohold for detainment in a PIRATE station? I want to capture a carebare in their capsule without killing them into my ship's cargohold and them lock them in a warehouse container in a PIRATE station for torture and ransoming by CSM.
Furthermore, I want to get a pirate flag from TRUE SANSHA in order to do the above; capsuleers can't capture capsules without a pirate flag and applicants must have at least -5.0 security standing to qualify for one.
If it is not possible, please refer to the developers to make it possible; it might slow down foolish activities in New Eden.

Well said people, well said! Especially you Ankhesentapemkah, I didn't know about the self-destruct sequence in capsules. Definitely not a good idea when you can't tow it with you! Thanks again people, it's been a pleasure.

Edited by: Kessiaan on 02/06/2009 23:15:26 Sec. status is a very poor measure of whether people are pirates or not, and how piratey they are.
Being under -5 means you live in lowsec and know how to defend yourself.
Having a 5.0 sec. status in lowsec usually means you're a slumming nullsec resident.
The only people who you know 100% won't attack you are the year plus old characters with exactly 0.0 sec. status.

I can think of another reason this will never happen. You touch my pod and I kill you, simple as that.

Since it clearly bothers you to let other people play the game, why dont you just start warp distrupting the pods and keeping them there for your own catty amusement. I mean besides the fact that catching a pod is hard and this tactic is considered greifing if you do it without cause.
PS: I think we should all work together to increase criminal activity in New Eden, cause we should all be gangsta's with ugly gold teeth and silly hats.

Just a quick note,
1. You can not put one ship(pods are a ship) inside another with the current engine, the engine breaks. This is why you can't dock with Titans.
2. There is this great sheriff's module called a smart bomb. Fit it, and as the criminal's ship explodes push the "punish" button. Lol's ensue.
