Hey,
I have returned to the game after some time out and despite being in the process of looking for a Corporation to join, I want to focus on the here and now.
When I left the game I was running level 4 missions for the Caldari Navy, which seemed the right thing to do at the time. Now, that I am back.... you guessed it, I am doing the same.
However, I have gotten to thinking, which doesnt happen often.
1. Apart from loot and the predictability of running missions. Why run them? 2. Who is the best NPC corporation to run for? 3. What should I be doing with LP's that I am getting.
It might be worth mentioning here the following points:
1. I am Caldari 2. I am combat trained, in so much that I cant do anything else 3. I am training towards a Golem
Regards

It doesn't matter, as long at it got high quality agents, and there are loads of corps that have those.
So there is no reason to be in a Navy mission hub lagging out, because there is a world full of agents out there. ---

hey, thanks for the prompt replies. Some more questions if noone minds.
1. Someone once told me not to buy ships with LP as its a waste. A) Is that correct? B) If so, what should I be buying?
2. I have a 7.93 standing with the Caldari Navy. A) Is that good? B) Is it worth me changing now?
3. I didnt understand the 'Not Caldari' answer.

Whats with all the "newb help" threads in gen discussion recently?
Did the ingame help channel degenerate even further since last I'd been to it?
We may need a new forum section soon labelled "Tell me how I can be good at the game plz."

lag double post.
Also OP : "I didn't understand the not caldari answer", Most notably, not caldari navy, think supply and demand but if you already have such a high standing you should probably stick with it now and swap to a different caldari corp once your Caldari State standings rise a bit more.

Get your caldari navy standing up to 8.00 for jump clones, then switch. The more options you have, the better. Consider running missions for the opposing factions too, so you can recover your standings before they start shooting you every time you enter their space. ---

Having flown for Caldari Navy (in Motsu), I strongly suggest avoiding flying for them IF you care about the salvage/loot. If all you're after is LP then it does not matter who you run for. But given the **** poor quality of Serpentis/Gurista salvage (and the PITA of ECM that Guristas like) you are much better off flying for something like Amarr or Minmatar.

As per the "What should I spend my lps on?" Each and ever lp store has implants the standard +1 - +5 beyond that the other impants the items, and the skills are differnt. he 15k skills (connections etc) sell good, if its not from a combat agent. The drone specilzation skills used to sell good. some of the items for instnace caldari magnetic shield (passive one what ever its called) sells good.
But for all sales things you need to do the leg work. Find out how much you get in isk per lp for certain items, for a while it was alot more profitable to sell +3 implants than save for +5s becuase you got far more isk / lp.
Look at what your race does well, for minny After burners or projectile guns. or gyostabs. Just sit down one day with a pen a paper and calculator, (or better yet excel or an open office variant and do the math) I know wewould all like the quick answer to what will sell best but the truth is fluid and what is sellign now might suck once you flood the market.
If you have a good faction ship like the republic firetail and all you see is the 55 mil you can get for it you might not look at the fact that you can get more isk in multile sales of lower items.
So, shorrt answeris check out contracts and market and do the math.

Try Spacelane Patrol. They have the same LP store as the Navy, and their good agent systems have less ninjas.

Speaking Amarr, what's a good corp for them to run missions for? :D I've gotten tired of Motsu (And war targets.) and I'd like to get BP's for navy omen/Navy Amarr ships in general, from an LP store. My only problem is I don't know which faction/corp to do missions for. (Sorry for semi-sidetracking this thread.)

Anyway, Ministry of war has a lvl4 Q20 agent 4 jumps away from Amarr hub.

I think every Amarr corp has the navy ship BPs in the store, at least all those I've run missions for do. And MoW has two different L4 Q20 agents in hi-sec, both in .8 systems. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

My main has L4 standing with all 4 faction with at least 1 corp and just did it because I get bored very quickly.
If you do just a little research you can get to lower quality L4 agents in a couple of days of doing L2 and L3 mission. Its actually kinda fun to speedrun L2 and L3 mission and notice that mission that used to kick your ass you now do in a matter seconds(damsel).
LP rewards take a little research to find out how to best profit from them. Havent done that myself yet. My bet is that all factions LP stores have good stuff in them but I could be wrong. As mentioned before it would be the only reason to do missions in Caldari space for afaik. There are good Minmatar Agents in Caldari space if cant do without being jammed.
If you earn your money from anything other than LP my bet would be on Sansha and Blood Space agents. Bloods and Sanshas drop a lot of high prices modules, nos, neuts and some energy turrets. Most of all the salvage is the best. Angels are second best as it comes to salvage. Since you are Caldari you might better suited to take on Angels than Bloods or Sanshas.
My experience is that you get missions against pirate factions based on the space you are in not based on the corporation you work for. Can anyone confirm this?

Hmm..Feel free to call me stupid, but does that corp have any level 3 combat agents? I usually do missions for Command agents, but it doesn't look as if that corp has any of those. So I checked their Security agents (Those are mostly combat, yes?) but they seem to skip from level 2 to level 4.

Security, Surveillance and Command are all combat agents.
