I'm looking to join a WH corp, but would prefer a WH class and static that grant the most obscurity. Seems like hi-sec statics have too much in terms of ganker fleets constantly moving into you WH. What type of WH and static would be best for minimizing the number of ganker incursions into your WH? C2 with a static C3. C3 with a static C2? Something else? On a side note, do all known WHs have 'statics?
Thanks |

I had a lot of fun in a C3 with a static 0.0.
You never get invaded, because if the hole closes, the invading force has to live with the fact that their only exit is now in some other 0.0 system probably 50 jumps from where they came in.
C3 so that people can not attack you with capitals while you build your own inside. 0.0 static so you can roam every day another 0.0 region where you don't come in through the entry points and are fast on intel channels, but in the middle of a region where they don't expect you to come in.
Mind you, while you have sites ofcourse, this is not a cashcow hole but it's there to milk the fun of small gangwarfare. |

Depending on the class of w-system you want to live iin, and whether you're homebodies or planning on running sites via your static.
Perhaps: C1 static low/null. I have no experience with C1s but suggest this from extrapolation of C3s. C2 static-C3/C4 and null/low, especially if you're wanting to be farming your neighbours. C3 static low/null. C4 static C3 ... altho all C4s don't have direct empire statics. C5 .... hmmmm not sure. Perhaps static C3, altho all C5s don't have direct empire statics. C6 ... I have no experience in C6s.
hisec statics = lots of tourists, usually not well intentioned, unless you're very careful with static management. Great access to isec for logistics stuff. lowsec statics = not so many tourists, and those you do get tend not to be that good or in gangs that are too troubling. OK emergency access to hisec for logistics stuff. nullsec statics = not so many tourists but some can be pretty savvy and dangerous. Not great acess to hisec for logistics.
In a c3 with a lowsec or nullsec static you get a hisec-direct K162 every 5 - 10 days on average. That's usually plenty for resupply and selling logistics.
Other factors that increase your 'obscurity' include: - Not building expensive faction POSes fitted with heaps of faction gear. - Not building capital ships in low end w-systems, and not making capital ships you do build obvious (i.e. leaving them sitting in forcefield while you're away ... they don't scare ppl off, they attract the wrong sort of ppl). - Not running sites in ott shiney ships. A macahriel and nightmare running C3 sites out of a faction POS is an invitation for a fleet effort. - Not make wealth and shiney obvious. Gas refining in hgh end systems, lots of SMAs etc. - Not making too many bad friends. - Looking like you know what you're doing .... including a well setup POS (or several).
We can build and sell pretty much every ship. Check my bio for details. Our pirate epic arc completion packages really are very good: https://forums.eveonline.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=12973&find=unread |

The best w-space holes for people not bothering you is system with a C1 static. One of the main reasons for this are the mass limits on all C1 wormholes. You can't bring Battle Ships, or Dreads to siege a POS via a C1 connection. Even a fleet of T3 Battle Cruisers risks collapsing the hole. Also people prefer an easy HS exit. A C1 connection doesn't insure a C1 with a HS connection, and collapsing a C1 connection is surprisingly hard as you can't just run a BS, or Orca through a few times.
C1 with static C1- Being a C1 people can't bring BS to attack your POS. On the other hand you can farm the connecting C1, and get to HS. A C2 connection is much more nice as C2s generally (always?) seem to lead to HS, but it make the system more attractive. In general most people aren't interested in C1 as they are perceived as poor isk makers.
C4 with static C1- This is nice as C4 loot isn't better than C3 loot and the sites are harder, which make the system less desirable. The static C1 means that while Battle Ships, Orcas, Hulks and the like can enter via random connecting holes. If they siege your POS with battleships they will be stuck for weeks until a new random hole opens up.
C5-6 with static C1- A C5-6 system tends to scare off a lot of people, but what most people miss is that these system often spawn ladar, and gravs sites that can be easily cleared by a drake. Also you can bring capital ships, Battle Ships, Orcas, Hulks and the like in if you are patient and wait for the right random LS/NS connection. If they siege your POS with caps and BS they will be stuck for weeks until a new random hole opens up.
That said if you **** off the wrong group they can still kick you out of a hole. I've seen fleets of Bombers with a couple of Mark V's for supplies taking down defenses with bombs (don't group those modules), and then I assume take down a POS with torps. Some who is bored enough will jump a dread alt in and spend the next week or 2 with a scanning alt finding a way out. Corps that know what they are doing bring a HIC with a BS afterburner for chain collapsing a C1 static so they can get to HS at will.
PS- A wormhole static will only open on the other side when you warp to it. If you don't warp to it no one can use it to enter the system. Remember the less you use the static connection the less likely you'll have visitors. |

I heard theres an wormhole alliance that will forcefully siege your system if someone interrupts their nullsec roaming via the hole. *whistles* |

There's no such thing as an obscure wormhole. There are corps and fleets that actively hunt wormholes. You're either in, and I recommend a well defended POS and some good reliable corp-mates, or don't bother. Seriously, you're going to end up watching tower shields a lot because 'OMG a Buzzard on D-scan!' if you're not able/willing to respond to players in your home system. |

This is not true (any more at least).
I lived in C2 until recently. While I vas there used that trik above to "lock" wh during weekend so that I can do things in peace. Well, one weekend I lock wh, but while I vas mining I notice a ship on d-scan. I lived alone in the wh for the last few months. I asked him from where he enter. He said from HS. I lock HS wh, he's not suppose to be inside if Marsan statement is true. |

And you can be sure you never had a random hole pop up in your system? Or do you play 24/7? while you are BM'ing that sig for later use.
This has been confirmed many times over. If you don't warp it doesn't open.

What Harsan wrote **is** correct ... with the caveat that you do not need to actually warp to the WH signature to spawn the corresponding K162, you simply need to commence a warp to the grid of the WH.
The scenario you describe is common, and I am presently often causing the same for other folk. I enter a w-system and camp it for a variable amount of time looking for kills. Sometimes my camping involves opening up the static a few days later. So you may think your system is empty, and so no-one is in there to trigger the static, but that may not be the case. Once i have triggered your static, without you knowing about my presence, anyone can scan the corresponding K162 and enter your system using it. We can build and sell pretty much every ship. You really can't assume no one is in your hole just because you had no known open holes for a few days. I myself have had alts for days or weeks in occupied systems and opened their holes occasionally without them ever seeing me. For example, if you look for a specific kind of C2 system to settle, you might place a scanner in a random occupied system that has a C2 static. That way, every day you get a shot at finding the C2 you are looking for.
And I had weird visitors myself. Just a few days ago I saw a newbie's pod (not renamed) floating in my system that hadn't had open holes for almost two days. He kept logging on, then 1-3 minutes later he logged off again. This went on for at least 20 times. At first I thought he was having disconnects, but I figure that any sane person would give up after being disconnected twenty times in a row
I tried to convo the guy and the convo was accepted, but after I asked him what he was doing here he was off again. Next time he came on I scanned down his pod. Since he didn't talk and I have found newbies before that were lost in w-space for days because they didn't realize they can self-destruct, I podded him out of my hole. Who knows how long he had been there... Winner of elections banned, runner-up demoted by rest of the body, the council controlled by the losers. CSM 7 is illegitimate, CCP should remember when dealing with them. Remember what players voted for. |
