taken from the old notes from the last armageddon day...
Quote: During the extended downtime on Tuesday 16th October we will be opening the test server, Singularity, for a good old-fashioned Armageddon day! ò CONCORD will be locked inside the nearest space donut store, and all solar systems will be set to 0.0 security status. ò All pilots will have super characters (yes, thatÆs right, the 480 million skillpoint ones). ò The market will be fully seeded with ships, modules and ammo. ò ôFree for allö rules will apply across the galaxy. Or no rules at all. Whichever you prefer. ò There will be explosions. Lots of explosions. ò Podkilling allowed Singularity will be opened around GMT1000 and will stay open until the Tranquility cluster comes back online. You wonÆt need to patch up to a test version, as all of this will be run using the current TQ client.

Would be nice to have it regularly without these points:

It happened a couple years back when there was going to be an extended downtime on the main server, so CCP opened up Sisi and gave all accounts on it max SP (eg, 5 in all skills) and every widget was on the market for 10 ISK. Furthermore, CONCORD parked their ships and went for donuts for the duration.
Sadly, my original character had missed the Sisi mirroring by a week or two, so I didn't get to participate. :(

It was tons of fun if you managed to log in. There ended up being a major cluster**** when several thousand players all tried to pile in and the resulting threadnaught of whines when many people missed it. I hope they do it for when ambulation rolls out, but based on the last time I think CCP couldn't take the abuse again. -- Eventus stultorum magister. |

Yet, it somehow loses it's magic if you're able to fly everything maxed out (on the test server). It's like cheating and using wallhacks, all of a sudden the game lost it's appeal.

sat in quoue for 1 hour and then the quoue got reset, so i never had the possibility of getting in since i landed on 600 in quoue or something. My friend got in, it was pretty bad apparently. Lots of lag, dreads and carriers sitting outside stations shooting randomly(not many since almost noone could get in) while the devs flew around in Titans/motherships and doomsdayed right and left.
Could imagine it would be semi-fun for noobs though so they could try and fly a dread/carrier in "battle".

I got to fly a naglfar. Vertical rustbucket FTW. I was like a few weeks old, it was awesome. I did however die in a fiery explosion as soon as I left the station.

This actually sounds like something funny to do during extended downtimes. If they could set up multiple shards (they're doing it on Sisi anyway, so why not pull Multiplicity in right away), it would also remove the long queues. I can imagine it getting boring after some time - but then you just leave so your place becomes available for another pilot -----
