Posting this on my alt to keep my corp name off the thread.
Could someone give me some tips regarding ships and fittings specifically designed to bump a ship off station. I'm thinking of high-sec griefers that typically play station games. Assume they're flying battleships or similar.
I'm a bit of a newb to the game so apologies if my question's too vague. If more detail or a more specific example is needed, please let me know.
Thanks in advance.

Something that goes fast and isn't a frigate.
Nano Cane/phoon etc.... are ideal
(Stabbers may work as well- I've never used them for bumping off a station though)

Edited by: Omarvelous on 26/05/2009 01:55:01 Best ship Ive had experience with is the Cyclone (*EDIT* any battlecruiser will do - cyclone has best agility).
100MN Microwarp (yes battleship sized microwarp on battlecruiser).
Low slots need a split between istabs and overdrives. You need to cut your acceleration time from 35+ seconds to around 20.
Mid slot needs at least 1 med cap booster.
throw on tackle gear.
fit small guns (frigate sized) on high slots.
NO rigs - keep it cheap.
Test out your bumping runs. Best to warp to a friend at 70-100 km and accelerate then overheat your microwarp and keep spamming the approach button. Watch your cap and inject when needed.
I've bumped a thanatos (carrier) with my cyclone about 300 m/s - about 5-10 km.
A Battleship will go in the thousands of m/s - you can usually push it about 30-35 km from its spot.
Have friends nearby to distract him so he doesn't see the obvious bump coming at him until its too late.
Be prepared to hear BS excuses like 'OMG - I was desynced I didn't see myself move away from dock - I'm petitioning!!!!!'

Yeah because you're the only station hugger in the Eve universe. Unless you're also posting on an alt I'm fairly certain you have no idea who put me up to this or which corp I'm in. But hey, whatever strokes your e-peen.

It might be - I think I usually choose a BC that's thoroughly underrated for pvp to fly under the radar so to speak. A harbinger has a reputation worth noticing when it shows up so your element of surprise may not be there. I'll hop on test server and confirm which BC has the best bumping capability.

Minmatar Battlecruisers each have identical mass, velocity and agility. Arguably the Hurricane can be made the most agile because it has six low slots. But they are all identical to start with.

Edited by: crockett EXE on 27/05/2009 04:22:34 Hurricanes can give a hell of a bump even to a BS if you have enough room to get speed up. Really just depends on the station as it if it's enough or not. Some stations have really big docking radius which makes almost no amount of bumping enough.

bumps used to be most effective when hitting "stop ship" before getting too close to the target. Is this sitll true?
