Class 2 is easily done in a well fit HAC or battlecruiser. Commandship like a Nighthawk has no problem. Class 3 might be a bit more difficult and include warping out a few times depending on the type of site.

cool thanks for the input. Maybe i should start with a HAC, just to get the hang of it. But first, how do you determine class and what fit would you put on a Cerb for class 1-2?

1st: get "Wormhole Thingy"
http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1030547
2nd: I don't know about a Cerb, but a cookie cutter passive tanked pve Nighthawk can solo up to a Class 3 wormhole with Frontier type sites fairly well.
Highs: 6 * Heavy Launchers w/ kinetic missiles, Utility Slot = whatever Mids: 2 * Large Extenders, 2 * Invulnerability Fields, 1 * Photon Lows: 2 * Shield Power Relays, 3 * Ballistic Controls Rigs: 2 * Core Purger 1
Note: All of the above (I shouldn't need to say but...) should be at least best named and/or T2. (T2 Heavies with T2 Scourge Fury's are quite helpful with the Sleeper BS's for example. Standard missiles for the frigs and cruisers. CN Scourge if you want to pop for the added expense).
Drones: Heh, you can carry some sacrificial T1 Warriors if you want, but afaik you shouldn't get scrambled in a Class 1-3.

You can get scrambled by sleepers in class 3 afaik from the frigs. So warping out isn't always possible.

Hmmm... while I've been thoroughly webbed in a class 3, I've never been scrambled. Although I've only been in a few class 3's.

Yes, especially if it's a "Core" sight. You will die. As Sid posted above, you might want to try an introductory foray into WH space with a more expendable Drake. It should be able to handle up to a Class 3 as well.

You can solo a Wormhole in a shuttle.

Class 3 Wormholes can be soloed in a Nighthawk with good skills. I usually go with a passive setup. Occasionally have to warp out in some Radar and Mag sites but generally it can tank everything thrown at it.
NB: Radar and Mag sites in a Class 3 tend to spawn rats which can warp scramble as well as web. They also have a tendancy to spawn groups of remote repping ships (usually frigs) which can be a pain to kill. 'Normal' sites which can be located with a single probe only contain webbing ships.
Class 3 WH Nighthawk setup i use (with occasional variations): Hi: 6x T2 Heavy Missile Launcher + 1 Core Probe Launcher Mids : 2x T2 LSE + 2x T2 Invul Field + 1x T2 Magnetic Scattering Amp Lo : T2 DCU + T2 BCU + 3x T2 Shield Power Relay
Ammo: T2 Scourge Precision (Frigs), T2 Scourge Fury (Cruiser and BS), Scourge Heavy (Argos Sentry Guns) Drones: any 5 light drones (useful only if you get scrammed and cannot tank the damage - release them and while the sleepers switch targets to them you can escape)
The above setup works well for me (also enhanced by implants such as Siege Warfare Mindlink which gives me an extra 15% to shields).
