Edited by: Tesfoutu on 22/05/2009 21:56:58 Hello,
I asked in the help channel but they weren't really able to give a cohesive response. I am interested in raising my faction with Caldari Navy to 6.67, to help with fees and ore refining taxes. I was expecting this to be a grueling 3+ month process. However, someone in the help channel claimed that it was possible to do it in 2 hardcore days played, and 7 days of serious (but not hardcore, necessarily) play.
While I would really love to believe this is possible, the cynic tells me no. If this is, in fact, possible, could someone please point me in the right direction? If not, I apologize for wasting your time. Thank you very much. Fly safe.

Corp standing is very easy to raise. Get a good high quality agent and just blitz missions as fast as you can. Don't go back to loot or salvage. 7 days should be enough time to get to the zero refining tax limit. But that depends on how much missions you can run in a day... if you're only running two or three it will likely take you a lot longer.
But, yeah. These forums seriously need some indicator that the post has ended and the sig has started. |

Hey,
I'm sorry I should have given more background. I am an *extreme* newbie to missions. I ran a handfull when I first started EvE, and then made it a point to avoid them whenever possible. I've trained social to 4 and am currently training connections to at least 3, possibly 4. Is there anything else I should know? Someone mentioned I should stick to courier missions, something I sort of understand. They also mentioned I should attempt to find an agent next to a storyline agent, and as far as that goes I'm absolutely lost. I'm not at all trained for combat, and a decently fitted (t1) caracal is the best I can do at this juncture.
I'm worried because I remember the first time, way back when I started, I tried to do missions. It seemed that I did them for days and never even got close to making it to level 2s. Is there something I don't understand about the mission system? Thank you for reading.

I was assuming you could run level IVs. At your skill level you should probably stick to level II combat missions. Courier missions are good for faction standings, but not as good for corp standings (Caldari Navy has more combat agents anyway).
Basically, the higher level the agent and the better the effective quality (you can see their quality if you check their info), the higher the standings gains you'll get for completing missions with them.

So if I dont' have the skills for level 3 and 4 combat missions, and would prefer not to train them just to get standings, there's essentially no way? =/

Not without paying someone else. The corporation I'm currently raising standings with, I've gone from 4.91 to 6.26 on 11 missions (9 combat and 2 courier). If you have the faction standing with the Caldari State to do level 4 missions, you could potentially pay someone else to run them for you. This would involve you getting the mission, warping to the site first so your hired gun can follow you there, and then you'd have to turn in the mission afterwards (he'd have to pass you any mission loot required). Storylines could be done the same way. Since he wouldn't be getting anything for it (no standings, no rewards, just bounty, and no storylines from it) I have no idea what the charge would be. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

I am in the process of grinding corp standing. One thing that helps is to locate a storyline agent for the corp you want standings with. Then whenever you've done 15 missions you make sure you do the 16th at an agent who is as close as possible to the storyline agent.

How does one go about finding a good storyline agent? I'm currently based in Jita 4--4, so it would have to be in the vicinity. And doing missions for any Caldari State storyline agent will raise faction with all the caldari factions? Caldari Navy is what I'm going for.

You can technically get all the way to 10.0 with any agent, it will just take longer with a lower level agent.

Use http://eve-agents.com/ for finding storyline agents, looks like Caldari Navy does not have any storyline agent in The Forge.

It took me about two months of pretty irregular play to reach 7.somethingorother with Caldari Navy, from essentially nil with a starting character.
So focussing on that and doing true grinding wouldn't be super time consuming.

I managed to get my alt to 6.67 in about a week, by letting him mission together with my main, who uses a q20 lvl 4 agent. I'm not really an intensive missionrunner atm so it could have been done in less days. Btw i didnt train connections on that alt, so that would be another way to get it done even faster.

i got to 6.7 in less than a week with MIO (amarr), though i already had high caldari standings and started with a high lvl 2 agent.
if you want to do it alone, the trick is to use the biggest ship you can to blitz missions and move to higher level agents as soon as they become available. i used an assault cerb on lvl 2's and switched to HAMs for lvl 3's. the quality difference within each level of agent makes a big difference.
the best way to do it is paying an L4 runner to gang up and share rewards. gang up, fly a cruiser, and pick off all the frigs to speed things up.

you can get to corp standing of 7.00= in 5 days of grinding... not that hard. more so if they have a storyline agent for same corp in same system/station.

I went from 0 to 8.6 corporate police force standing in 4 days, just run 125 level 3 missions. I already had high enough faction standing to get straight into L3s and I didn't accept storylines as that'd trash my Gallente standing. ---
