fit a small RR on there since your hac gang will be doing hit and runs and you can rep while at a SS or holding on a gate ---- People Say Im paranoid because I have a gun, I say I dont have to be paranoid because I have a gun.

Pretty much the same fit I use except I like fitting an offline large smartbomb or remote rep in the spare high to use as a heatsink. -

Er, yeah, CPU can be a bit tight with HBT rigs. Named DC can help though, and having Missile Rigging IV.
The attraction of HBT rigs is not just that it gives you the full 240 km range (although you'll need a second sensor booster to use that, which may or may not be worthwhile in your circumstances), but it also means that your first volley hits so much sooner. That velocity bonus translates into an effective DPS bonus in all situations.

How about a mix? Would this fare well? It has strong ehp with ~35k hp. The named DC may be expancive tho. (no cpu left for the last high slot for anything tho, other then a offline heatsink)
Yeah, rigging level 4 may be a skill I would need for this. :P I only have it at level 1 as of now, never used launcher rigs that much since the weapons I have used the most are HAMs and Trops. Never really needed velocity rigs, but I can certanly see how they can be effective in long range setups.

When fitting and flying the Cerberus, think to yourself 'horse archer' - something relatively fast, with range, that works lovely as a skirmisher - spamming damage and maintaining distance. I'm voting for Heartstone for the CSM. http://www.eveonline.com/council/voting/Default.asp |

Would be good if target couldn't warp off . Remember horse archer tactics were to not let enemy close to any member of the raiding party.

Which is why it's a gang fit...someone else is there to tackle and tank. This fit is to deal massive damage and be so far away, you can't even get targeted.

Alternative small-gang Cerb fit (Gypsio hates this one). Though I find it extremely good as it can reach up to 45 km and dish out 600/500 kinetic/other dps. EHP is 38k. Afterburner so that you can move short distances when needed. Painter so that you can do full damage to cruiser sized hulls with rage ammo.

Cerb for roaming gang is not good with heavy missiles since you need to hit and go, engage or flee... you are not getting chance to warp away and come back at 100, since there is no time, bubble that drags you in, or your gang is already dead.
So.. do some thinking before drawing dsibrish up on papare and going \o/ I WON EVE, 5 min later coming back to whine how crap caldari is :D
HM for gate camp. HAM for roaming. ----------------------------------------------- Limit cloaks to cloaking ships! Or Make covert ops`s to scan prototype and improved cloaks!!!

Probartly, but I got other more importent skill first ;). There is a few missile support skills I deem more importent to take to level 5 first, and some space ships command skills I want.

HAM got a bit limited range for roaming don't it? I like the HAM Drake, used it a lot. And HM Drake is cool for camping, but HAM Cerd for roaming I do not see. Pleas elaborate a bit more on why.

i can get 555 dps with terror rage missiles with all skills to V and using 3 ballistics control systems. with a fourth it jumps to 573. when overloading i get a maximum of 664 dps

It's decent DPS. However, a comparable HM fit could do 506 DPS out to 220 km. I know which I think is more tactically useful.

IDK... It'll take the missiles about 900 years to get to their target. You might get on a killmail but you won't be helping anyone at 220km. Might as well fly a Strategic Capsule.

You miss the most important point of HAM cerb, its their missile velocity thats almost as fast as inty.
HAM cerberus is insanely deadly against fast moving targets, thanks to missile velocity and range. You think any vagabond would like to try to engage gang that has cerbs?
HAM cerb 550 kinetic dps, 40km range is pure win. I would like CCP to remove kinetic dmg bonus and or add same bonus to all missile types or buff rof or smth. Its really stupid bonus when you compare it to other races missile boats.
For example sacrilige can dish out 700+ dps when fitted for pure dps. and It can do insane dps when fitted for tank + dps, with any missile type + drones.
Although sacris range is only 18km which makes it about 13km ONLY! If you count in all moving speeds etc. how much missile has to travel until it gets to target blabla.
Anyway back to cerb, if its fitted properly.. it can have EHP around 33k hp which is decent buffer for hac gang. Or it can be fitted to permatank 160dps until you run out of boosters. But still hes going to have that sweet dps over range.
HAM = hac gangs HM = Gatecamp/station camp or whatever camping game... ----------------------------------------------- Limit cloaks to cloaking ships! Or Make covert ops`s to scan prototype and improved cloaks!!!

I have maxed out HAM missile skills and HAC V + 5% implants. I get just a bit over 600 kinetic dps with the above setup.

This may be true in some circumstances but it's definitely not true in all of them.

Seems like a lot of favour is on missile velocity rigs, do any of you resort to using a CPU mod for it? Or do you bite the bullet and train launcher rigging 5?
Cause I will be roaming in gangs with other caldari players, and 1 Amarr and a few Gallente, but I want to be able to roam with my alliance as well sometimes :).
The ideas for HAMs seem like a good one, tho I see a lot of recomandation for 100km range in the gangs I want to be part of, so while HAM may have nice dps (and rof) it got a bit short range for me.
Before I had skills for Cerb tho, I used the Navy Caracal like this (its actually cheaper):

I had to use fitting mod, but it got decent ehp at 42k. Less damage then a Cerb, the main reason I want to moveinto the Cerb. I guss the Navy issue could use some velocity rigs after readoing the thread a bit more.
