I'm putting together "Skillbook Packages" in my corp's HQ's hangar, but wanted to know which skills you get in the Cash Flow for Capsuleers storyline, so I don't include those ones. I can remember a few, but anyone have the complete list? Btw, don't you really hate it when you read something like this, and it's a signature? |

No I've done it a few times... it isn't random, or at least it didn't use to be. You always got propulsion jamming, afterbuner... and I think a gunnery skill of some sort. Btw, don't you really hate it when you read something like this, and it's a signature? |

i got motion prediction as amarr after apocrypha. Did only the early missions, not all of them though (on my amarr alt that is, on my main i dont remember). You get destroyer for free in the epic arc though...

Afterburner, Propulsion Jamming, Motion Prediction I think. You also get Hull Upgrades from the Crash Course. ---- <Insert Wit> |

Btw, why don't you just buy 10 of however many skills you wanna give, and let them take'm if they want, it's not like those skills you could potentially get from cashflow are really expensive ones.

Not providing everything for free adds to the feeling of achieving something alone. I didnt came to eve to get everything handed to me for free. Thats why I waited a month (of active play) before I joined a corp...

No point in waiting to join a corp. You can achieve much more when you have a corp to back you up, and it's not 'cheating' or something.
Edit: And a few noob skillbooks to get people started PvPing isn't 'everything'. I'm not handing my recruits everything for free. I'm handing them skillbooks. Btw, don't you really hate it when you read something like this, and it's a signature? |

Edited by: Ch1pmunk on 21/05/2009 18:31:25 in my opinion, providing 1 mil or so worth in skill books and a ship is basic for any corp. If i am getting a friend into this game, i will give him anything he needs to succeed. a previous role i held was doing just that. im not sure exactly which skills i gave em, but i had 2 basic sets. each had core skills and basic drone skills (also point them to salvaging skills and mining) one had gun skills and armor tanking skills the other had shield tanking skills and missiles (usually caldari)
depending on the skill of the character, they would also receive a ship
frig - their preference
cruiser - also their preference, but with alot of help deciding
destroyer
battlecruiser
usually i planed on spending enough isk on a new player that they will be self sufficient. (around 30 mil or so depending on their commitment and amount of time they are online) enough so that while i tank, they can get battle experience and isk killing in lvl 4 missions.
after a few lvl 4s, i would set them up with a lvl 1-3 agent so they can run missions themselves
i have more than a few players that have 10 mil or more skilpoints flying faction ships in 0.0, and tho that corp dissolved, i still feel it was a great way to help a player help himself.
i never gave anything away. i let them borrow it, showed them how to use it, and at the end og a few months, they have paid me back and then some. (i just tanked the lvl 4s for them, they do all the killing. so i figured it was a good exchange)
to keep players from just accepting stuff and splitting, we made sure it was clear, if u steal corp stuff, we would hunt u down and pod you, it was in the corp main page. only one person was podded as far as i know, and they stole a battlecruiser and left the next day lol
he had it a week. then we blew it up
anyone have an improvement of this system, please comment. be constructive and helpful please. It worked well for 2 years. hope anyone else who uses it will be equally pleased with it

My Corp has a Newbie Recruitment Package. It's a Mining and a Combat Frigate and the gear to pimp them both out (T1) as well as All the Basic Skills (All the Learning and Advanced Learning, basic weapons and Basic Indy) So that they can get a Good feel if they want to be combat or Indy pilots. --

Edited by: Jin Labarre on 22/05/2009 19:28:50 In my opinion, the most important and most powerful thing to give to new pilots are always implants. +2 to get them started and partly sponsored +4, once they got far enough to use them and sure enough to stay.
Skills then depend on what they want to try out first. When they actually enjoy mining, giving them the skills for a barge is usually the best way to get them started.

Edited by: Krystal Vernet on 24/05/2009 07:04:29 Had an alt I made but never did anything with, so for this thread, I ran her through the Cash Flow for Capsuleers arc (Dunno if this would make any difference, but it's a Gallente one). The tutorials new characters are walked through give a lot of skill books.
Starting with Crash Course: Hull Upgrades Repair Systems Shield Operation (which most characters have trained anyways, I think) Refining Motion Prediction Propulsion Jamming Shield Management Cybernetics Weapon Upgrades Sharpshooter
Didn't feel like going through the business and trade ones to see if those missions give any (you didn't ask about them anyways :p), but the tutorials related to business give: Trade Retail
Tutorial for Hacking gave me Contracting and Negotiation.
Tutorial for Salvaging gave Social and Diplomacy.
edit: one of the tutorials mentioned the crash course giving Afterburners skill, but I didn't see it anywhere.

My current CEO has skillbooks in the hangar, gives 300k worth of ship to people as needed, within reason, will help people fit their ships as needed, if he thinks it'll be worth it, and replaces any frigs lost in PvP. ------------------------------------------------ ,"Dude, your chin..." http://www.eveonline.com/ingameboard.asp?a=topic&threadID=1021382
