Edited by: Klaitu BenJohhn on 11/05/2009 20:39:51 I recently decided to try out the Windows 7 RC with Eve Online, and I'm getting weird graphical problems.
Specifically, the graphics drivers will crash and recover frequently. It happens particularly when docking and undocking. I've gone through and tried a plethora of options with little help. Running in fullscreen mode seems to make it a bit more stable, but the drivers still do their "has stopped responding and has recovered" thing.
I'm running a Geforce 285 GTX with Windows 7 64 bit, and the latest drivers from nvidia.com. GPU Temperatures are pretty steadily in the 75-80 C range.
Perhaps one of you graphical gurus can give me some advice on this!
(PS.. does anyone know why it's windows 7? I can't figure out the 6 that supposedly came before)

Using the Windows 7 beta driver or the Vista driver?
Works fine here with a 8800GT. --------------------------------------

- windows 3.1
- Windows 95
- Windows 98
- Windows 2000
- Windows XP
- Windows Vista
- Windows 7
And, as the other guy suggested, try getting the beta drivers (you are already on the latest, hmm, wierd), I have EVE running fine under a pre-rc client build as well on an 8600M GT. _

I have tried every one of the four available nvidia drivers for Windows 7.
I also tried the most recent vista driver, and even though the filename contains "vista" when you run the installation program it says "Windows 7" in the title bar.
Regardless, the vista drivers caused no end of problems. The windows 7 ones at least work with programs other than Eve.
I'm still not getting any better results. I keep tweaking and changing things around, but it makes little difference.

You know, I may have fixed it..
I disabled the PhysX feature in the nvidia control panel, and things are happening much better. I haven't done extensive testing, but no crashes yet.

You know... I have actually heard that being suggested, a few times, as a work-around solution in case of win7 and nvidia mishaps.

What about Windows 3.0, or Windows ME? Or were they just a figment of my imagination? lol
