Version 6.2 is up and running well, it's been tested slightly and quite a few changes have been made - these are documented towards the end of the text file, still if you notice any errors, please post it up here.
Any donations will of course be warmly received.
Looking forward to the adulation.

Version 3 looks nothing like this - the layout is similar of course, but I feel (having used it) it flows a lot more smoothly, the work flow should be along the lines of:
1. Entering your skill and selected percentages (if you wish)
2a. Entering your inventory on the items you want to keep track off, even T1 items use some components and other non-mineral items.
2b. Insert your own price for the materials/minerals you want to keep track of - this represents the fact that you work on a local scale NOT a jita price index, even if you build and sell in multiple regions.
3a. And then go and select a few items to build entering the Material Effeciency where required and listing prices where you'll need to buy them or what you will be selling it for.
3b.The two inventory pages will tell you if you have enough items in stock for your selection(s) and the overview will tell you what profit you could be looking at. Don't forget to take into account manufacturing fees.
return to step 2 for new 'batches' and don't delete the ME levels of blueprints already entered unless of course the copy has ran out.
Looking forward to the remarks for improvements.

The sheet is nicelly done, a big improvement. Can't be used for it all, as does not take invention cost into account, but still good tool to keep a book on invetary and what do you need for production.
I don't have much more suggestions really... what does this mean exactlly:
Increase Percentage2,00% Reduction Ore %12,00% Reduction Ore %22,00% Reduction Mineral %2,00% Market Markup %115,00%
I guesss reduction ore 1/2/mienral is about refining skills, but 'icnrease percentage' and 'market markup'?
Ah yeah, the most pressign thing (a big one): are you sure production costs for negative ME are working as they should? I tried with soem T2 rigs -4 ME and numbers are off compared to ingame BPC. (using ver. 6.2)

They don't correspond to ingame skill level, they're a financial discount.
Reduction Ore 1 & 2 - Empire/0.0 value reduction, check the 'Purchase prices' sheet - I needed a way to advertise the price the corp was able to purchase minerals and ore from members - it seemed unfair to set one % reduction so I came up with two. The values of course can be changed (don't include the %).
If you put your own prices in it'll display the discount on the refining page AND the 'Purchase Price' sheet. The manufacturing pages doesn't include the discount.
T2 Production Costs...
It doesn't include the T1 component, it only lists what you find across the sheet. I did it for convenience sake. If you're talking about the actual parts themselves please let me know what part and I'll look in to it. More than likely something is being wasted where it shouldn't.
Feel free to contact me in game if you see me on or send a detailed eve mail.
T2 production is nasty as some things are wasted and others aren't. I don't think it's a universal rule however when it comes to minerals aren't wasted but the components are. Still let me know and please make sure you're getting the quote from the manufacturing screen as the info screen doesn't work properly.
Thank you for the feedback I hope it's clearer, if not then we should be able to agree that T2 production is annoyingly complicated.

Indeed, just checked again, it's like if there is more waste than really exist. Also tried with some t2 modules, the same problem.
It looks like is not taking PE skill into account, as I tried different levels and had no effect. (and yes i set up it properlly in the overview tab)
some minor stuff: marauders are not jump capable, so tehy not belong into t2 jump ships tab, but i find this tab rather redundant tbh, less is better so i would move it all together into 't2 ships'. maybe move the example and informational tabs to the end, and leave 'overview' or 'links' as the first tab. but this is really a nonisssue.

I grouped things according to blueprint group - It felt easier that way, besides take a look at the 'ingredients' and you'll see why I've grouped them the way I did. Hint - would you like to scroll for 3 minutes to get to the end?
Mauraders are black ops right? so even if they themselves aren't jump capable (I'm an Empire man myself) they belong to the same group - I mean if you're building mauraders you're building other jump capable ships, possibly.
I didn't realise Production efficiency is taken into account as you need extra skills to make it in the first place and even then... can you confirm you're using an actual owned blueprint and getting an error? Eve mail me ingame and I'll take a look in to it as it will seriously affect the cost of production if it's out.
Thanks for the checking and I appreciate the feedback.

No Maraduers are buffed up BS, nothing else. Yes you could build also black ops, but you could also build hacs, or recons. Indeed I find more suitable to the "jump" tab ships like covert ops, force recons, stealth bombers or one line of the t2 industrial ships, which can use the covert cyno from the black ops. But IMO I would just have it all under the "t2 ships" tab as I said.

Yes I just was settuping some works in game while I checked it, PE is taken in consideration for T2 production too. This is an alt so I may contact you with other accounts if I see you around, but better look at this as it's not very usefull as it stands right now.

Okay the reason they are split up as it is, is to save width. T2 ships don't use the advanced construction components of which there are 28 of them. If they were to be moved to the T2 ship tab it would be an extra 33 columns as there's also five capital construction components as well. I hope this clarifies my thinking behind seperating those ship types.
Could you send me an eve-mail in game detailing what you're building and what your ingame quote is, that way I can go through the sheet and find out where I'm getting it wrong, the T2 manufacturing is pretty important to the entire Organiser, even if some people don't do that much T2 building, they could atleast be producing the parts to sell to other people.
Thank you for the updates, the download count is now at 68 so I would appreciate more feedback from those that are testing/using it.

I've taken the link down as it really was broken - I believe I know how to fix it, basically theres two formulas depending on wether the ME level is positive or negative.
I'm continuing the fix as we speak so hold tight and hopefully it'll be all correct but it will remain a beta until it's been tested by the users.
And if you have any Tech 2 blueprint ingame quotes (negative or positive, please send them to me so I can compare the numbers and check before releasing.

The "NEW" 6.3 Beta version fixes (I HOPE) T2 component calculations, really not sure about the T2 rigs though, I'm in dire need of in game quotes however as many as possible - either post them here or eve mail this character so I can compare what's going on.
In response to a previous post, wether Tech 2 production takes the production efficiency skill in to account is in my view redundant, if you're building stuff especially tech 2 items and don't have it to level 5 you're not doing yourself any favours and this is a free spreadsheet.
please read the version history on the text file for what has changed and why and how you can help me to improve the sheet.
Thank you, I'm going to sleep.

Edited by: jenga on 07/08/2009 09:26:47 On the t1 hi slot page there is an error which occurs when you set up t2 hi slot runs on items.
If for example you add 10 runs to heavy pulse laser 2 when you look at the t1 high slot page it will say you need 10 heavy beam lasers. This is caused because under t1 energy transfer arrays you have included one of the t2 ones dropping everything by a row including all the spaces under required item column for the items which don't have t2 counterparts.
Also I have some T2 rig BPC's so I will send you the details shortly.

19 downloads and no reports of dodgy numbers, it's a good sign I hope. Sadly no replies, which could be another good sign as I like to think people only comment if there's something wrong.
I would still like feedback though, but anyway on with the NEWS.
As it seems it's stable enough I'll be producing a guide, could be in an offline html format really haven't decided yet oh and I'll link a few screenshots on to the first post as well.

Popup blockers should work, I use firefox which seems to catch most pop ups. I've tried eve-files but it was really weird I don't know what other kinds of crap you got though - hopefully you only need to do it once :D
And possibly again when the patch comes out with the new rigs.

Would appreciate feedback and thanks for giving it a try.
Would anyone care for a 2003 format, or have people imported it successfully? I'm not sure the XML will work for the Eve Central prices though.

Edited by: Rotnac on 10/08/2009 20:09:56 Had to wait to look at this the next day at work - I realized last night that I don't have 2007 installed (thought I did). By the way, this does open in OpenOffice (the open-source Office clone), but not much in it works (not that I can blame you - OpenOffice isn't nearly as good as Excel 2007).
Anyway, this is an incredible spreadsheet - I can't imagine the time it took to make this. This will be extremely helpful in planning production and BPO purchases in the future. In fact, between this and the Invention Calculator program someone else makes, I don't know what else you'd ever want insofar as production number-crunching.
A few things are a little unintuitive (for some reason, putting in your own custom prices into the inventory section for minerals confused me momentarily), but overall, its fantastic. I should note that as a 0.0 producer, the API pull from Eve Central isn't something I care about, as data from Delve and Querious do not get into it all that frequently (mainly due to us not caring/not wanting that info shown to people not actively in the area).
Only thing that would be nice is a mineral compression aspect (unless I missed it). 0.0 production relies on sending various modules from highsec to 0.0 which have volumes far lower than the total volume of their minerals when refined. Of course, that involves working out how many of various modules are needed to refine into a desired mineral mix, which isn't a trivial problem computationally. Nor am I a big enough producer to actually do this regularly - as such I can't offer much input on this. Also, I imagine most users of this are in highsec, and wouldn't really benefit from this.
Anyway, I can say that this is an amazing tool. I'll be sending some isk as thanks the next time I have extra liquid isk around. And throwing an extra copy of 2007 on my PC at home.
Hopefully that wasn't too rambling; I'm a bit tired right now, and tend to ramble when I'm tired.

Not rambling at all, succinct and to the point.
I'm very worried about the limited appeal the sheet will have due to it being in the 2007 format, however I'm not sure it's going to be as good/work well in 2003 due to the constraints in string length and sheet size too.
The biggest bug is that it doesn't like XML although in your case it's not as important as it is for me.
The mineral compression question, is a good one, not sure how to do that though and it would really depend on the refined mineral worth....maybe take a look at the base mineral worth (max refining) the higher the base cost the more minerals you're gonna get in some cases of course.
Thanks for the feedback.
