ok the guy was being a ****, he shouldn't have picked on a newbie so close to starting the game and there is almost no way a shuttle would be worth the effort of scamming (he must be less than useless)
The sad truth about eve is the politics of scams is if your dumb enough to fall for it your screwed... So be careful when performing any ISK/Assets transactions. if your still looking for a corp to join Week and febile are open for new player... there both patient and helpful (office in korama)

did you put in a petition? the gm's are fairly hard on people that scam or try and kill noobies.
as far as revenge if he is an alt you well likely never see him again, but if it is his main you can take a go try and jump him in low sec can flip him if he mines. if you have moneys you can hire people to ruin his day

1: This is a silly mistake
2: I'm glad you learnt the lesson in a relativity cheap way (i know as a lil noob its a big loss) - but it prepares you for the long run.
3: Learn from it and be better cos of it - any decent player will understand paranoia from a new player and not get offended by a show of reluctance.
4: Make a post containing his alts and he'll get some punishment.
5: Be careful with your trust.

confirmed, "this bonus ship that will allow you to jump instantly into faction warfare" yes its clearly on the box. i clicked the button and bam!!!!! i got a yellow shuttle (they painted it neon yellow so has to fair for the opposing faction fleet) now they can see my uuubarr shuttle and have time to dock.( and kodos to CCP by not showing favorites ) now it seems to be a regular shuttle , but has 8 high slots, 8 mids , and 8 lows. 75m3 drone bay, and 9876,23451m3 cargo bay ( i have smuggled small moons in that thing) no serious its just a shuttle the box lied PETITION!!!!!!!!! oh they also give you a certificate to give millitia guy and then you get ganked by faction navy going to jita.... yes it was has painful has it seems. so you can have mine convo me or eve mail me in game ...O.P

Those interbus shuttles are going for anywhere between 30-50M in contracts, so it is a pretty big loss actually.
Not that a newb knows anything about contracts. |

Edited by: Captain Norton on 23/04/2009 05:45:18 Oh Number 6, how have you been?!?!?!?! I just thought Id drop a line to say hi! Oh btw, I want to express my regards over the whole petition thing, I tried telling you though. And bout those Mercs you hired......I wanted to let you know I'v just added this ALT character to the biomass. In about 10 hours time, he will no longer exist-and neither will your chances of ever finding me. However, ill look you up again some day-or perhaps see you in low sec. It will then be sweet satisfaction when I blow you out of the stars, and you have no clue what hit you.........
Oh and lastly, In case you missed my last post, I sold your shuttle in a Jita scam for just under 1 million (999,999,999) ISK! So while some say I was stupid for wasting my time on a shuttle, I was able to get six and sell them for that same amount all in about a week and a half total. Do the math. How much did you make this last week and a half??????
Farewell you gullible guppy carebear. If I have any regrets, it is only that I did not screenshot your hatemail afterward, so I could post it for another good laugh.
And lastly, if you want to purchase the special edition again and get a shuttle, my corp is looking for pilots. Just contract all your crap to me (including the shuttle) and well get you moved over. ROFLMAO

Edited by: Javir Noroven on 23/04/2009 11:04:54 Nice try, Norton, but reprocessing your noobalt won't change a thing. You'll still be a cretin no matter what alt you fly.
Face it, you pulled one of the lowest tricks in the book; you scammed a newbie. Not only that, but a newbie who had paid actual hard currency for the game and recieved a unique shuttle for his outlay, presumably so you could sell it for internet money. There's no "spirit of the game" there; it's the behavior of an insect, and your poorly written farewell post only reinforces the image of a fairly sad individual quietly outraged at the newbies presumption and doing their inadequate best to appear nonchalant and still stab their frustration in the face at the same time.
Numero has responded well to this scam; contracts, asking for advice and so forth are the sign of a player willing to suck up his losses and learn, and we've all had to go through that in EVE. Norton, on the other hand, has prostituted himself in exchange for...what? a few million ISK at most? There are sandwiches in Jita which cost more than that shuttle is going for. Delicious Tech 2 sandwiches.
Of course, he could just be a griefer, the lowest and most base form of Internet protozoa, in which case Goonswarm would likely be a probable future career move, if his "main" isn't there already
Or it could be a her
Numero has come through this whole thing wiser and with support from members of the better half of EVE's player base, I think. Norton has come through it smelling like ass; and that's a smell that'll cling to you no matter how many alts you burn through, since it's a symptom of one's personality, not of this strange and mildly sticky world of internet spaceships

Oh man! I nearly fell off my chair . So did some merc's actually gank him? Funny through, I didn't actually put a bounty on you yet. Maybe people on the forum done it from their own back :)
ISK isn't a problem, as I will eventually get it back. Its only a game after all
So Captain Norton changed his name, why would he do this? maybe people hunting him? maybe feeling guilty.
Also 'Captain Norton' your the only one who gained from scamming a noob. So why the threats :) If you try and attack me, feel free. Its only a game
For everyone who helped me in this thread.
