I had a look at the Capsuleer Application Process. Apparently, they've changed in the few weeks I've been a pod pilot.
For one thing, you don't need to graduate out of a school to be able to post on GalNet any more. There's some kind of new support system for rookie pilots. Basically, the idea is to give them real experience while helping them learn the skills the pilot himself finds necessary.
These rather unbalanced people must be the result. I guess it was a good idea in theory on multiple levels, but it's simply easier to hide your idiocy if you aren't direct contact with tutors and a class all the time.

It's like someone managed to bottle megalomania and stick it in capsule goo. By all the gods, pilot, why in the hell would anyone give a damn about you?
Also, to pick apart your insanity... the first thing you remember is just a few years ago? Really? Also, do you understand just how meaningless your life apparently is if all you can think of to do is sign up with the hapless, apparent idiots who sign up to serve you, or blow up your ship by attacking a fleet?
My mind is just bloody blown right now. Just blown. Taking it to the stars. |

I'm a new pilot as well, and I'd like to point out that it is most definitely not the State's training facilities that are to blame, although I can obviously not comment on the facilities of the other factions.

You disgust me. You bring shame to New Eden's capsuleers.

Well, here's the thing.
Magnus is just unbalanced.
This guy has severe head trauma.
Maybe one should not try and fly while on Drop?

Ooh, that's a scary thought...
Pilot Rendar, I wouldn't call this insanity. A little insanity helps us do our jobs. I have no idea what this is.

That explains so much. Thank you Pilot.
As to Pilot Ash.
You don't need to post a short, poorly written biography about how much of a spoiled brat you are to introduce yourself. Nor is killing your crew acceptable.
You are nothing more then wasted biomass.
To the rest of the pod pilots, use Ash as a warning, you can't replace your pod's hydrostatic fluid with boosters and quafe.

While I agree quafe is a horrid, HORRID idea, Boosters aren't bad. >:-D Quafe is too chemically volatile, and not viscous enough to properly support our bodies in those pods, but boosters. Boosters can make things very interesting. Just . . . don't expect improved results, only an improved journey. I'd like to agree though, I suspect this Ash character did some experimentation with quafe. Edited by: Atasuke Saeki on 10/04/2009 23:32:56 *Listening to the chatter flowing from the coms within his quarters, the capsuleer casts a lazy glance over to the readouts, ensuring his course remains set. Leaning back into the chair, he thumbs the frequency open before finally choosing to speak and add his own thoughts to the debate at hand...*
"Not all of us born anew on the stars are so twisted of mind and purpose.
Though I seek to find my own place in the vastness of New Eden, I feel that it is my purpose to uphold honor where possible in the turmoil of chaos that is life.
There are too many dark minds preying the spacelanes it seems these days, and far less champions to both serve each other - and those who are not as we are. The non-capsuleers and the like.
Even in the burning afterglow of a pirate vessel's destruction, watching as its occupants drift away waiting for rescue, I can only hope that such a brush with death will reaffirm their need to consider what purpose they serve. We gain nothing by becoming the depraved - as the chosen of the stars sailing through the blackness of space we should be paragons to be looked to for our deeds, not harbingers of terror and chaos.
Perhaps time will show me the naivety of these thoughts, but for myself - I serve. Humbly and with a mind to restore some semblance of honor and respect in these dire times.
Fight well - and die with honor.
Atasuke signing off."
*The capsuleer rises from his chair, turning the coms to ship wide so he can hear the responses as he heads to once again don his flight suit, preparing once again to be entombed in the liquid womb that is his power and more importantly, his reminder of why he must use such power responsibly.*

Personally I gotta admit, this chap amuses me.
Of course it wont stop me from wishing that his cloning procedure has a little accident. The problem with today's capsuleer's is that they did not have the education that us older vet's got. Barely are the implants shoved into skulls than the new 'cruits are tossed out the airlock in a lovely new pod.
Also seems that his vaulted self importance is an indication that the money his parents gave him prolly covered up a mulitude of unsolved murders and animal mutilations that occured during his teen years.
Ignore his chatter, better yet every time you see this sump s****in space endevour to put a few high calibre shells into his ship and wipe that smug grin from a frozen corpse.
Also some one metioned why do crews fly with this fool, simple ... Money, crews earn considerable sums for the high risk job that is a crewman on a capsuleers vessel. Chances are his crew are a hair bredth from their brain melting from commercially available drugs, some legal some not and as long as they are paid well they will continue to do so. Which is why some folks don't give a crap about crew. I like to keep mine alive as much as possible as a well trained crew will fight that much harder to remain alive.
Anyways Ive said enough, gonna go skin an Amarrian or something, just to keep the edge in..

While agree that many prospective crew members' fear of death is overridden by their desire to gain large sums (by planetary standards anyway) of isk, what good is it if they're not alive to spend it? I know that if I were a ground pounder and I knew the guy I was thinking of working for had a rep for randomly killing his crew for laughs no amount of money would convince me to take the job. |

Too many boosters IMO... The ancient texts and datastreams point to these kind of symptoms when "the great unwashed" indulged in things they did not understand.
