Not true, i got a buzzard replaced in under 24 hours from a suspect game meh-chanic in a WH a few days ago. Maybe petitions like "i got my shiny new BS stuck on an asteroids and it it got blown up" take 2 weeks before you get told to stfu but really issues seem to be getting addressed quite fast these days.

Originally by: Kessiaan I was present for this fight and I must congratulate the Caldaris for an excellent kill.
BUT.. I must also vent my annoyance at CCP for releasing these fancy T3 ships and then not putting them on anyone's overview. I would have fought much more aggressively had I known the Proteus was actually there, rather than popping a dessie and some noobship while I ran out to 200kms and just sat there like an idiot. I know I wasn't the only person who had this problem, and didn't even know it until later.
T3 ships are listed under the overview settings, but are checkmarked off by default. I changed mine to include T3 cruisers right away. Didn't you?

Originally by: Senora HaulerAlt Hey Siig, link some kills you got with that thing before it went down to the poeple ewho got your last one.
It was part of two destroyer kills in the combat it went down, Thrasher and Coercer. Before that it did not shoot anything. At least nothing marked in Caldari board.
I agree with Bad Messenger, kudos for bringing it out to combat and it was nice that it actually "fired a shot in anger" so to speak. Also, some Gallentes (there were 11 in local) did abandon her quite rapidly, with Ankhe being the first to go. As usual, we found her in a plex, mere two jumps out (and yes, Caldari NPCs did not fire at her).
Bad Messenger was with the rapid response force that arrived but stopped to switch for a bigger ship and thus did not get into killmail. Neither did Ladel Teravada unfortunately who bought us valuable time to muster a response.

Well done on taking that thing into combat! Shame it was lost but at least it went out doing something other instead of spending eternity playing "Spin the Ship" like most people would.
You going to get another?

As an ancient salvage supplier I'm happy to see that someone brings T3 to fight, at least salvage demand will be higher.
Anyway, props for bringing T3 to PvP.

Pricey stuff Siigari, still - props.
Fact is, it doesn't matter who's flying the damn thing - T3 are still so rare that if report of one in a low sec system gets out, everyone and their dogs are going to be straight onto that cruiser.
Hell, I can bet that if you fly a T3 through empire, you'll probably get suicide ganked.
Either way - I, along with nearly everyone else in this thread - am envious of the apparent neverending wealth of Siigari, GTC fuelled or not.

He could not have CTD with the first proteus loss. he took way to much damage for that to be the cause. Especially since he says he crashed before the fight started which means he couldnt have gotten the repper on. Siig is well known for taking stupid expensive setups into pvp and losing them. I nominate Siigari Kitawa for the darwin award. CCP must love him though all the cash they earn from him selling GTC's and all. They may have replaced the first loss as losing a player like siigari would cause a shortage in gtc's available for isk.

Well, he's paying to have a good time. So going to the movies is also "losing" money. If he can afford it, who can blame him. I wish I had money to spend that way. And there are people putting a whole lot more money in this game to begin with.
Edit: It's worse to put too much time in the game. You can get money back, but not time. ----

I like to fly expensive pimped out ships for PvP aswell. And of course, all PvP ships die eventually. I know there are many ******s out there spewing irrational hatred toward anyone who flys something expensive
Anyway, I choose to fit expensive mods because of performance. If a t3 cruiser with expensive mods still can't perform, then I wouldn't bother flying it. Right now, it seems to me like the ships die too easy. He lost it to a bunch of frigs and a couple t1 bc! even a t1 battleship with t2 mods would perform better.
That's the main reason I don't fly anything smaller than a bs.

The difference here is that going to the movies does not cost you 200+ dollars everytime you do it. Just because you have the money to do something does not make you any less foolish for doing it...

Again, there were no NPCs in the acceleration gate. Yes, Proteus was inside the plex at one point, likely tanking the NPCs for his friends. Then it doubled back to acceleration gate for a fight and was tackled and destroyed. Since it was in perfect health, I assume it was waiting in safe spot for quite some time for our attack.

Since the forums enjoy assumptions, I could let this go on forever, but I will tell you all what happened. br br We had a plex group going at the time, and pushed the Caldari plexers out of the plex in the nick of time. There was about 2 minutes left on capture and we rushed in at the last possible moment to save the plex. We pushed out an Ishtar and something else. br br We enjoyed a few moments of plexing while the Caldari were away. With 37 minutes on the timer, we figured we d have to fight for it once again. br br My corpmate Aria Moana in his Phobos fitted with a passive tank guarded the gate entrance while the rest of us took down the rats. I suggested because we did not need everybody inside the plex to cover gates, however nobody listened. When the Harbinger showed up at the plex gate, I ordered everyone to rush to protect him. What I heard and what I believe happened however were different things. br br Initially I saw a few of the people inside the plex warp out to go assist Aria in taking the Harbinger down. While I was still inside the plex I heard Aria saying he needed help badly, so I warped out to go assist myself. Upon warping to a planet my shields were down and armor was back up. One more time I asked Aria, are you getting him down? to which he replied Get here fast Siig or I m gonna eat it. br br I warped in without hesitation, knowing very well this was probably going to get me to lose my ship. br br Before I continue the story, I will let everyone know that for me PVP is an adrenaline rush like nothing else. EVE is my drug and PVP is the chemical. Typically when I enter a PVP fight in a ship that would be considered Siigari-style I get flush, start sweating and my heart races. The day before this fight I was in Old Man Star and warped in on a lone Thorax at a planet. The Thorax charged for me and I flipped my scanner a few times to reveal a Hurricane and another Thorax off grid, not more than 500,000km away. I knew that it was going to be 3 versus 1. I did a quick standings adjustment to see if there was more of them and there were not. While keeping the Thorax at range and ignoring his Valkyries I decided to make a move. How to go about it though? I could rush him and he d have his friends in warp right away, or I could try something sneaky. br br I shot his Valkyries. I managed to instapop three of them before he recalled them. I responded with a wave of my own Warriors providing the necessary distraction. After having him stay at about 60km for three minutes, I watched as he started to concentrate on my Warriors. He began to shoot them. I rushed towards him, pounding the overload on my MWD, blazing towards him at 1800m/s. My heart began beating out of my chest, as this was the first real PVP my Proteus had ever seen. The environment at my desk faded away and all I heard was my heartbeat pulsing faster than dance music. When I realized what was going on, I landed on top of him so fast and a href= http://theaduroprotocol.com/killboard/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=2513 target= _blank melted him /a before his backup could arrive. br br The second Thorax and the Hurricane were now on top of me. I sicced my Warriors on the new Thorax and focused fire on him, ignoring the Hurricane. With my tank at 100%, I kept the Rax scrambled and at range. a href= http://theaduroprotocol.com/killboard/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=2512 target= _blank http://theaduroprotocol.com/killboard/?a=kill_detail&kll_id=2512 /a The sec... |

Back to the story.
I warped in on the Harbinger at the acceleration gate, watching as Aria successfully pops the Harbinger. Aria says "Siig, I'm toast," and watch his Phobos explode as well. A group of hostile Caldari Militia are now here and I begin to take down their damage dealers. I nearly instapop a Coercer and then switch my sights to a Thrasher, who goes down in one volley.
I call for backup. "Guys, this is Siig, my Proteus needs assistance. All available ships warp to Siigari. You must be out of the plex to warp to me." I start to sweat, realizing there are a lot of frigates here that are going to be difficult to track. I pop Warriors. I start to engage a Rifter, then realize my drones are navigating too fast to track him. I do a recall/attack maneuver but to no avail. I then realize I'm going to have problems if I stay here for much longer, and no backup has arrived so I scoop my Warriors and deploy a set of ECM drones on the Rifter and a Drake who is shooting me. I attempt to warp. No go.
Calmly, I use my Look At tool on the Rifter and start to match my direction to his. He's afterburning and I'm scrambled so I can't match his speed. My guns still fail to hit him, so I turn all my attention to the Drake. I chuckle at the low damage from his missiles and my tank is sustaining itself. A Crusader and another Rifter are now on top of me and I start to get a bit frustrated, so I call for help again. "Guys, this is Siig. They've got a few more ships here, where are you guys?" I overload my entire gun rack and offline my nosferatu. I plug the Drake for everything I've got, and ECM him. I watch as his shields start to melt to pieces then before I know it my tank is at 50%. I overload my hardeners and rep, receiving an outstanding 94/92/95/94 resist to Armor, and my rep blisters at 942 rep/cycle. My cap dries up and I overload my cap booster for another hit.
Losing armor quickly and patience even faster, I shout in my mic "HEY! WHERE ARE YOU GUYS?" and continue attempting to keep whatever kind of tank/dignity I have left. I check my overview... what can I take down in the next 30 seconds? Nothing. Frigs are too far off, my drones are being picked off and I'm running out of options. What can I do?
Voice is dead silent. Nobody is saying anything and I shout out loud "TO HELL WITH PLEXING" and my ship explodes.

During the fight with the Caldari Militia I didn't even so much as notice my pulse. I was calm, and in control. For some reason I knew my ship was going to explode the moment I hit "warp" but I did it anyway. I wanted to help my team capture that plex.
