Finnish channel is currently being plagued by isk spammers. I'd love to post a picture with isk spammers hitting "3 spam combos", but I'm sure it'd break some rules. The issue escalated as we lost moderator rights from the channel some while ago, most likely due to the abuse of those powers.
I'v been trying to petition the spammers for a while, but its an unnessecary strain to me and to the GM's. What I'm suggesting is that we'd get some moderators with only right to mute/kick isk spammers.
Any other problems in the channel, which unfortunately are frequent too, will be dealt by petitions and will not have anything to do with moderators. _______

Agreed. The isk seller spam is just getting very much out of hand and making the channel unreadable at times.

I think my IQ just dropped by at least 10 points reading that. Please don't post again... ever.
As for the topic at hand, I reckon the best way to prevent ISK spammers would be a regular-expression based block list which would allow people to configure regexes which, if they appeared in a message, would result in the message being filtered.

Would you believe that I have suggested something along these lines to a dev and have gotten quite a moan back how it would destroy the "instant" style of chat in game.. Creating unnecessary lag to chats..
In other words.. We would be facing "Valvojat, paljo viive?" style of communications in game.

The regular expression system would work perfectly, if it worked ONLY on client side - wouldn't affect in lag or anything at all.
Anyway, I second this with the moderator issue - we NEED to get rid of the darned iskseller spammers, which frequent the channel all the time. Worst time's are worse than the example above, there can be 3 or even 4 different bots spamming at the same time, kinda hard to have any kind of conversation there.

Well, that particular dev fails:
1. this system could be optional so people get to choose between laggy chat and ISK spammers. I know which I'd choose.
2. CCP need to use something like this. Judging from the graphs it is a LOT faster than conventional regexes used in Python.
