Hi, im new to Eve and am having problems with part 6/10 of the tutorial combat mission... im suppose to warp to some pirates base and destroy it... only problem is whenever i take my fist shot, i proceded to get 2 shot by it...
Is there some sort of trick im missing, or do i just need to upgrade my ship before i can attempt it...
I've completed both the other 10 step tutorial mission just fine, but have already lost 3 ships to this one...
Is there a web site like thotbot i should be using?
Sorry i cant give you the exact name of the mission.. im at work and going by memory ( blame massive short term memory loss)

Are you sure you are shooting the right thing? You are right clicking in space and warping to the mission area and not engaging a station or something right?
If you are sure you are in the right place and are definitely shooting the right thing, are you still in your rookie ship? If so you definitely need to get into something better, as the rookie ship is made of tissue paper and school paste. <-------------------------------------------------> "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." -Albert Einstein |

Well this definitely seems a bit strange as your condor should be able to take on any of the missions given. When you are able to get back in game give us the name of the mission and maybe we can figure it out. <-------------------------------------------------> "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." -Albert Einstein |

Having the same problem with The Roving Rogue Drones mission. Any information I can find about this mission says it should be very easy, but I can only destroy one drone out of five before I have to warp out to avoid getting killed. I am in my first ship. Do I need to upgrade before I can finish this mission?

have you tried using a small shield booster to regenerate your shield?

Well if by first ship you mean Ibis/Reaper/Velator/Whatever the amarr n00bship was. Then I'd say a better ship is a good idea
also as she said, fit a shield booster or armor repairer.
One last word, there nothing stopping you from just warping back in, and taking out that mission one NPC at a time

I had the same problem in a punisher one a level 1 mission. It took me like two hours to clear out 3 packs of 4 npc's. I upgraded to the coercer destroyer and thankfully so because every mission I run now it seems there are 10-20 rat packs and taking them out in the destroyer is a cake walk. It allows me to burn through missions very quickly resulting in a great isk/hour ratio.

Edited by: Celina Dax on 28/03/2009 06:17:59 Here's the trick. First off, make sure you have a ship that's better than the starter one, or at least have some upgrades (shield boosters should be enough). Then, make sure you're at about 10K range from the outpost. Next part is important. Be sure you're all set to warp out of there in a hurry. Now open fire with your guns. As soon as you hit the outpost, warp out of there, and you'll see in your journal that Objective Complete. Simply fly back to your starting base and turn in. You don't need to actually destroy any of the NPC's in the area.

As far as i remember, when i did the tutorials there was a "trap mission". You were supposed to go to check out an abandoned starbase, and it suddenly shot you - you needed to get the hell out.
Your mission is probably similar. In fact check your journal, it may be already completed from the first time you died.
