EVE Online: Apocrypha 1.0.2 has been successfully deployed on Tranquility and we are now open for business. This patch focuses on fixes for the skill queue, epic mission arcs, user interface and much more. For a more comprehensive list of what has been added and fixed, please check the patch notes.
Please use this thread to list any issues, if any, that you have discovered and our team will continue to monitor Tranquility until we're fully satisfied that any issues have been resolved.
We would encourage anyone who is experiencing any game play issues to submit a bug report and we will investigate the matter as soon as possible.

Edited by: Tipsy on 26/03/2009 12:58:28 The patch-downloader and the patch both fail with Error Code 29. This seems to be related to lack of hard drive space (I had only 80MB free on my C partition, where EVE is installed). This plagued me during the first Apocrypha patch, where I made as much space as the installer said it needed (plus about 100MB) and it still failed.
Downloading the whole patch and installing (edit: after making sure it had plenty of space) worked fine, but the error message could be a little more descriptive. -- Tipsy XFI Chief of Staff |

DL'd and installed the patch on OSX. All I get is a white screen, which I suspect is the login screen given how the cursor reacts when I mouse over the appropriate areas. Going to reinstall, if you don't hear back it worked.

I try to patch but i get a program error just before download. Updated my firewall today (zonealarm) so that could be the problem but i would like to know if i'm the only one with this.
Plenty disk space left and i can download everything else without a problem.

80mb? u need a minimum of 200mb just for virtual memory........... uninstall any software u have no use for.... delete your old **** movies (once u have backed them up on dvd or external drive) and clear out the temp folders.... if none of the above works buy a bigger hard disk.... a 1tb hard drive is less than Ç100 these days

You lot really are the most stupid bunch of fuk-ups around.
Yet AGAIN, your worthless auto-patcher has decided my installation (new as of the expansion) is corrupt and I must download the patch manually. Next, yet again, the patch has crc error and doesnt match. So i'm told to download the WHOLE fuking game yet again. Is this where I will have the same fuking problem as the last time? Will it take 9 full 1.9gb downloads with crc errors, trying various workarounds to get it to work?
YOU FUKING KNEW YOU HAD A PROBLEM WITH IT, YOU FUKING KNEW THAT PLENTY OF PLAYERS SUFFERED THE CRC ERROR AND INSTALLATION CORRUPT ERROR BEFORE AND STILL YOU FUKING REPEAT THE SAME BUL**** OVER AGAIN.
And now I've had my hissy fit, I can relax in the knowledge I was clever enough to set off a 30 day skill because I knew you lot were idiots enough to repeat the same errors.
No you cant have my stuff, yes I can and I will slag off the dev team and NO I wont say sorry and no I dont give a **** if im banned off the forums etc etc.

Tbh, just boost the worthless DL server you got, 10kb/s for 2gb file is unacceptable customer support. (no, its not my line, other DL's go for 800kb/s).
Or just release a free for all torrent file of the patch content w/o the crappy torrent utility.

Its because, as before, there are now many hundreds of people with the installation error who are trying to get the full game to re-install.
Welcome to the CCP merry go-round patch day.
As for adgena and Lumy, if you dont have an issue, please kindly fulkoff and play the game. As for my childish immature fit, yeah well it made me feel better

Not able to install the patch on the 2003 windows. getting an error. Can not use a copy of client (that patches normally on my notebook with windows XP), getting an error.
The same thing happend on apoc. release (but it could be resolved with a copy of client), as not it is impossible i have to download a full client from ur site. This is very sad. And i guess you'll have some terra bytes of traffic today.

You dont have a problem? How nice for you, time for you to go play the game .. tata
As for the bad language? Made me feel better so thats alright then and CCP certainly dont listen to reason, the dont listen at all in fact. They knoew full well that they had an issue before, they DIDNT try to fix it, they left it to the community to fix it, as will happen again. Why will it happen again? Because really dont give a damn as long as the majority are fine.

Patching went fine.
Gameplay: first an exe error occured in the fitting screen, when i put in a different hardener. Engine and warp sound worked Laser sound is completly removed now, no matter which angle i look at my ship....fail still this annoying "knackknack" from the speakers, first heard now as the blood raider cathedral went to dust.

Try using a download manager. I was getting ~150kb/s when downloading the installer, now i max out my connection at 800kb/s. My personal preference is Orbit, but i guess any would do that supports multi threaded download.

When you warp in a pod, the warp tunnel is perpendicular to the direction of travel.
Using the low shader setting, gates only seem to appear once you arrive at them - sort of pop into existence.
At a POS, the tower was not being rendered at some distances.
Just things I've noticed so far.

GG KK THX)... i am attempting to rollback the update and use the manual updater to recapture the error so i can submit it fully...

OK. The only issues I have found (which i thought were going to be fixed). Sounds. I now cannot hear laser beam fire from my current ship at all, even if I the camera is totally close up. I can hear enemy turret fire but not my laser beams. Also enemy ship explosions are barely hearable or not at all if the camera is 20kms or more away. This needs to be sorted as missions become a bit more complicated for me as I hope you can understand. Thank you for listening CCP.

Yes - it consistently crashes for me if I am docked and have the fitting screen open for one ship, and then switch to a new ship while it is still open. I'm not a happy bunny.

Did this, worked. Shame the patches are like this, having to reinstall is bad :( imo make it a prio to get the patching tools setup properly b4 even thinking of adding new content.

Autopatch failed.
Manual patch doesn't work since autopatch modified files.
I'm a bit disheartened that I must now spend a majority of my play time today, and likely for the next several days, reinstalling and reconfiguring the game, getting my UI windows just the way I want them, and generally making EVE a playable experience again.
If I may be so bold as to make a suggestion, perhaps CCP could develop a tool that can check game files and replace corrupted ones individually with the correct version. Such a feature is available in several other games, preventing customers from having to reinstall the software repeatedly. Also, if some developer had the foresight to realize that occasionally the autopatcher fails, perhaps some code could be implemented for a failed autopatch to undo its own changes, so a subsequent attempt to manually patch will not fail due to files "corrupted" by the autopatch attempt. -- EVE Review |
