Veldspar is (and most likely will always be) the be all and end all of high-sec ores. It has the best isk/hour ratio and its in large volume everywhere.
Although if you want to mine in .5 theres always Plagio and Omber to feed off, they dont quite rake it in like veldspar but they come close.

Veldspar > scordite > plagioclase/omber/kernite > pyroxeres Tritanium is the most valuable mineral since the reprocessing of lewtz doesn't generate enough to fuel industry (ships need craploads of trit to be build). So Veldspar and Scordite are the most valuable ores in high sec. ____________________________________ Fulbert Peon |

not really. until recently, scordite was better ore. it all comes down to what people are willing to pay for it.

Kernite, basic only, is worth more than veldspar due to the demand for the ore caused by the lvl4 storyline mission.

If people go intelligent enough, veldspar will be more mined, and the other ores will become as profitable as veldspar.
But you know, too many ignorants mining pyorexeres and plagioclase cause "price on market is higher" (they wont care/notice about the volume thingie)

If by "recently" you mean "for over a year".

by "recently" i mean less than half a year. if i'm not wrong, trit spiked just before Quantum Rise. until then, it was a downward trend.

It spiked with the removal of npc shuttles and I think that was quite a bit before quantum rise please resize your signature to the maximum allowed file size of 24000 bytes. Navigator Shhhh, Im hunting Badgers |

according to price history, lowest trit price is september 2008. that's about half year ago. veldspar still wasn't best ore to mine for next month or so. in october it went over 3.0 and in november (with Quantum Rise) it was best high-sec ore, as it is today.
i agree "recently" is somewhat subjective and might be misleading :) comes with age

Removal of the NPC unlimited sell orders of shuttles and civilan modules has been done during spring '08. That was a pretty good time for speculation (trit price sudenly rose to 5isk/unit during a weekend), cause CCP didn't tell anybody about this radical method to suppress Trit price cap (which was 3.4isk/unit, the cost of a reprocessed NPC shuttle). ____________________________________ Fulbert Peon |

Jaspet is the worth ore ever in all EVE. You can make 3 times as much money with veldspar in the same amount of time. Don't even look at Jaspet if you value your time.
Look at this table.

Indeed, Jaspet is the worst, Omber is close second...
However, as a miner, I WILL mine the Jaspet/Omber roids I find in exploration sites (like yesterday I had a Large Kernite/Omber site). That's 1,350,000 units of omber of various flavors. Sure, veldspar would be worth more, but finding rocks that size is hard (unless you do mission farming, which I don't want to do atm). Those giant rocks take forever to melt, and that is nice when you're doing something else, you can leave your hulk pointed at them and just return every 3 mins to move the ore to a can/orca (orca in my case).
Plus, I plan on holding onto my isogen/nocxium/zydrine until the prices correct :). Mexallon is doing better these days. Sold my last 2 million batch nearly instantly at 26.75 and was shocked at that.

Jaspet is the single worst thing to mine in EVE right now, period. It's running about 58 isk/m3 right now, far below even pyroxeres, which is something around 78 isk/m3 and a far cry from the precious veldspar at roughly 123 isk/m3
At the moment in highsec it's top to bottom, veldspar > scordite > kernite > plagioclase > pyroxeres > omber > jaspet. YMMV
Rarely, you'll find hemorphite, which runs about the same as plagioclase and hedbergite which runs about the same isk/m3 as scordite. ___________ I reserve the right to be wrong.
