Cheapest battleship you can find with as many plates as possible. _________________

Yes, using plates does influence the mass usage of the WH. You might even want to attempt entering the WH with your MWD active since it significantly increases you mass.
On a side-note I am still having trouble with the detailed mass calculation of ships going trough WH's which I know exactly how much mass allowance it has. The problem is that the effective mass going trough never adds up to the maximum mass allowed of the WH.

Edited by: Desequenced on 23/03/2009 19:34:11 From the looks of it, a 'geddon with 7 or 8 Meta 3-4 1600mm plates may be the best one. Mind you, screwing up large holes will take a lot of the good ole "in-and-out".
Edit: Maybe an MWD would help too.

What if you add the mass of the pods too? You are supposed to be in your pod, in your ship. |

Check the item database, they add mass when active, thus the longer align times when active. May be deactivated before it calculates your mass for WH purposes, though.

Trivial compared to ships - I'd assume it's considered to be included in ship mass, though testing it precisely enough to be able to tell the difference would be very hard since you can't see the raw number for the wormhole mass capacity, not to mention kinda pointless.

Not that cheap, but Orcas with 250M mass seem handy. Allowed to pass through those small 300M holes, and do collapse typical 3000M in thirty minutes or so.
Has quite many other benefits for traversing WH space as well.

I'm not up to speed to contribute to the main topic, but I was surprised to see comments about 300M/3000M wormholes. I've done 'show info' on a number of wormholes, and I thought CCP decided not to inform the player of the mass allotment, because it's not listed. How do you see it?
Also, side question, Why? Why are you wanting to collapse a wormhole? Spite?

There are copies of the database floating around from the test server. I imagine the data is extracted from that.

There's at least one tactical reason for it that I can think of. No, I'm not sharing. I'm sure somebody will eventually open their big mouth.

If cargo is included in the mass calculations, you might try a hauler loaded with a high density (mass/volume ratio) cargo. Uranium is pretty high on the list. Garbage is up there as well and more economical.

I just thought from the above, that there was a way to 'see' what was left on the mass of the wormhole. Perhaps there isn't.
On thing that stuck out for me in that data is most wormholes supposedly last only 16-24 hours regardless. I had thought the average was supposed to be longer. Thus most probably disappear from timing out rather than mass in lower sec. Higher class WHs seem to allow more mass on net, but probably have much larger gangs running them and more access control, so who knows which is more likely for those.
Was the OP thinking of high sec holes? Those appear to be easier to collapse on average.

When the wormhole reaches certain points in it's lifetime and mass quota, the messages in show info change accordingly. I don't have a list of them or what they indicate though.

Marconi, Could you reformat the "Target System Class" text colors to match this map? Entity's Wormhole Class map Thanks for sharing your info mate. |
