You do know that you can retrieve your probes when done using them now, right?
Not to say that bringing probes isn't wise. But with an hour long timer, you can get those suckers back.

Well, Apocrypha is one helluva big exploration patch so...what did you expect? ----- Why doesn't anyone ever read the forums before posting? EVE is a game of adaptation and planning. Adapt or die. |

I admit, I'm actually really fricking excited about the new probe system. I already have probably the sexiest scout ship in existence (the Anathema), and I love to get lost. W-Space has my interest more than any game in the last five years or so.
It's even got me looking to join a corp again. Maybe an exploration corp. Something dedicated to scouting and exploiting this new territory.

And your probe launcher will keep 100 of them too.

You mean, bring (3 + Astrometrics skill level) probes ? Because you can just recover them all and relaunch... Speaking of which, why not simply make probes last forever ? Now you only need to recall them every 4000 seconds or less and you get the same end-result.
Well, anyway, the BIG problem with scanning nowadays, you don't exactly know what you're going to get before you actually find it and go there... you might have an idea, but meh...

Actually that is not true the scanner is now reporting the type of site long before you get 100% and can warp to it

Edited by: Draconyx on 08/03/2009 17:57:19 Well I am trapped Down time removed the worm hole and shifted some of the sites. . I updated the top It appears dropping a single probe gives you 2 returns for a site.
At any rate almost done but interesting none the less considering the breakout.

It takes like 30 seconds to find a site anyway, so its not that big of a deal.

The w-space I am in has 15 Grav/Ladars and counting!
Oh, and the wh out collapsed. So I don't know which of the 30+ red dots I can see are non-grav/ladars, let alone my way out.

Yeh it gets ugly but it looks like the trick of dropping one probe and getting a site count does work, so @ least you know haw many you are looking for.
Working on a Radar site right now
