I just got removed from my corp because i lost a few ships. im in game seriouly about 3 month and i guess my wanting to learn PvP and get out there into combat didnt sit well with them.
Let me know if your interested in taking on a newer player who has some PvP training but not alot of experience yet. My kill loss standing is bad, but half the losses where before i understood the game. |

Sounds like your old corp were elitist jerks. I suggest using the corp recruitment forum for a few options there. |

Killboard stats are stupid. Give me a shout (even if you don't like my corp) or head over to the recruitment forums. http://reduplication.wordpress.com/category/explore-low-sec/

You can hit us up in game.. via channel "SQUIDpub". We are are a Caldari Militia corp in Faction Warfare that has taken on a lot of new guys and trying to train them to be decent PVPers. We are in FW but we are very likely taking a break from it very soon to head over toward Curse (NPC null sec) & Providence area for a little vacation.
One thing that you have to be willing to do is train for our corp fits. Soloing is fine but we also expect our guys to join up in our gangs when you can and we expect you to fly our corp fits in those gangs. We don't get completely anal about making you spec out some crazy off the wall fits, we use some very typical Thrasher, Rupture, Hurricane/Tornado & Drake fits.
As far as losses, we don't get too anal over combat related losses as we are trying to encourage guys to learn and often that means losses. We just try to discourage dumb losses that could of been avoided.
We are mostly active US time zone which is when we tend to run our formal gangs, but we do have several guys in earlier time zones such as UK & so on. Hit us up if you are interested. |

Before looking for a corp you should decide what kind of PVP you are looking for. Do you want to be a high sec greifer or war deccer, a null sec blob warfare grunt, a solo pvper? Think about how many people you want to be flying with. Pick a corp that is active in your timezone and plays the game you want to play.
Also any corp that worries about kill board stats is probably crap. |

Hello-
If you're looking at just kills and losses, then yes KB stats are useless and only perverses the game and fools anyone into thinking they're good because of their stats.
If you dig deeper into a pilot's KB, you'll learn more about him and his capabilities. A closer examination can reveal if
- he's simply a blobber
- an aspiring solo pilot subject to mistakes
- a useless pilot incapable of understanding fittings
- a courageous wingman willing to go up against overwhelming odds
KB stats are helpful if framed within the proper context. I certainly wouldn't go so far as to make a statement of absolute by saying KBs are useless. Always smiling :) Gallente Militia -aPVP Corp. Recruitment open.-a http://iamsheriff.com/eagle.html |

I would recommend RvB as well. They do a fair amount of whelping but a stint in RvB will definitely shorten your learning curve and it will clean up your killboard stats too.
Good luck |

Don't join RvB. You'll learn that all there is to PVP is welping Rifters. Occasionally BC's. The skilful employer of men will employ the wise man, the brave man, the covetous man, and the stupid man. Sun Tzu https://twitter.com/#/trinketsfriend

Hello

I wouldn't do that either. I check killboards all the time (for the reasons you set out).
What I ignore are killboard stats.
I would however make a statement that the OP's retention and growth depends more upon his attitude, his corp and his level of enjoyment than his killboard stats.

If you want to, you learn alot in RvB. But like every else, if you just fly passiv in the fleets you learn nothing. |

Yes, exactly, no one in RvB knows anything. That is what I said, precisely.
Honestly, if anyone watches the RVB Ganked videos the FCing is excrable and fleet discipline is nonexistent. In RvB, you learn about wringing your hands incessantly that the fleets aren't balanced, that someone may bring something that they shouldn't, etc etc. Plus most people just join for simple, on-tap PVP. But that isn't the be all and end all of PVP in EVE; it just caters to people who are too lazy or time constrained to work at it. Its popcorn pew pew.
Which is fine; nothing wrong with just joining up and undocking and pew pew pew pew.
The biggest problem with joining a large organisation is you don't learn from the experienced people because you are just one of hundreds of scrubs. This is why most TEST scrubs are utterly useless at PVP; we hired a couple of guys who've been in TEST for 3 years and they can't even d-scan and couldn't use a watchlist.
If you actually want to learn PVPing fast, you should join a smaller corporation where the experienced players have time to teach you. Then it's just up to you to actually learn something.
