I tried my usual distro (gentoo) - it repeatedly killed the DSL modem connection whenever I typed "/etc/init.d/net.wlan0 start".
I tried an Ubuntu live CD - it didn't like my DVD Rewriter.
So then I installed Ubuntu through windows.
Not completely happy about the situation and am planning to LFS when I have time but I'm downloading Wine at the moment to see if I can run Eve on here.

I tried Linux. I thought, 'Hey, Firefox is pretty d*mn good software for being free and made by the public. I'm sure Linux, which has been out way longer than Mozilla, would be awesome!'
Nope. Wasn't bad, just definitely wasn't user friendly enough. Not on par with firefox, not yet.

This is why I love virtualisation.

Usually when I install Gentoo on a box it just works (if you have any idea why the gentoo live CD crashes the router please share ), this one is being problematic though... the Ubuntu issue seems like a common one - I'll be starting the LFS install as soon as I'm done on the mission I'm flying at the moment.

I had Gentoo running in a VM but it doesn't support 3D acceleration in a VM. ===================================== It smells of spoon! ===================================== |
