As we all know, pvp-ing is all about griefing the opposing force. Nothing works better than current killboard givin us estimated value in ship and module losses. I think eve needs to complete that line of thinking and include implants and clone type into the price. Also, while we are at it, we need to have pod scanner created with the same purpose of allowing a chance for the person to pay ransom for their pod before death. Pirating is fun, CCP helped us a lot with HICs, now this would make it even better. Thanks!

Or maybe after you pod someone it opens a mini game where you can put in how much their stuff was worth and it gives you a cookie.
...or or maybe each kill can just award you "douche-bag points". After so many douche-bag points you can buy yourself a sweet title like "Care-bear Pwner 3000" or "super-duper-awesomeness_man".
Dude...let me say this, and it's from the bottom of my heart.
Can I be like you?

I like this idea. I see no reason why to corpse can not be scanned for implants, at least after it has been removed from the pod.

Edited by: Kusum Fawn on 06/03/2009 01:32:16 sure scan the corpse, but there is no reason why you should be able to use it, If i cant remove it without destroying it neither should you,
(say i clone jump, i still cant retrieve those implants)
edit, -- or can i? maybe in the new system you will be able to? i like the idea that implants wont be destroyed that way but think about the drop in prices you can currently get for implants, their very rarity makes them expensive.

i just want to ransom their pods for what they are really worth and if not then laugh at their losses on the killboard.

We don't need an MRI scanner to find out the implants people have.
I would like to see the implants listed in the killmail tho. It would open up some interesting third-party application options. --- New to the API? GrabRaw XML
It's coming...

During the CCP Las Vegas gathering the developers were pretty firm on the fact that they do not want anyone to know what implants were installed other than the victim. Reason being, that it would facilitate too much greifing, yea they used that word, and unnecessary podding.
So, at this point do what we have done for the last 5 years, assume the victim has implants and pod him. End of story.

No such thing as "unnecassary podding". Like you say, as it is, people just assume the victim has implants and pod them to be absolutely sure.
If anything, I would think this idea would make people less likely to pod someone. I mean, if you know he's not losing anything but the pod, podding him is less appealing, not to mention that letting him go usually means he's got a longer way to go before he can come back and retaliate.

Yay! Nothing makes a Pirate feel better about themselves than a bit of Epeen stroking. And nothing makes the sociopathic tendencies more enjoyable than a juicy killmail for said Epeen stroking.
EVE... where Terrorism becomes Entertainment.
