Edited by: Jasahl Toruken on 07/03/2009 15:25:33 They fixed the boot.ini thing, I got lucky and saw the thread posts before I ever restarted my pc. So I was able to rebuild my Boot.ini
Now they use start.ini instead. so shouldn't run into that problem again......shouldn't

Its a resolved issue, basically the EVE patcher deleted the windows boot.ini file meaning windows wouldn't boot, didn't affect us Vista users or the linux users at the time who got a good laugh at everyone else :) --------- Liberty Rogues Site[/center]

Bootini issue didn't affect players who didn't install the Premium graphic pack the day it was released... So, just a few players were asspwnt by this (in)famous patch... ____________________________________ Fulbert Peon |

Im looking forward to it downloading 2.4GB, installing it then immediately redownloading and re-installing twice before sisi client refused to load at all so I had to manually download it. Their new download manager certainly does like to download, although all evidence on hand suggests it isn't much of a "manager".
I think that is a fun feature that they should retain for the production release!! Although not as cool as their destroy windows ability to boot feature, which will remain my all time favourite feature of any software product.
They should also not add a metric fsckton of cool new content the week I am getting married, I am fairly certain I will be required to do things other than play eve...

Oh the good old boot.ini screw up! That day was just another proof that I should never patch with the first 12-24 hours. I like to see how it works to everyone else first, and that Trinity day was just hilarious.

My advice, set a loooong skill going (at least a week) and dont change it until the servers have been up at least 2 days and are back to normal for downtimes etc.
Don't be tempted to change to a short skill once the servers have started up as there will usually be a few hiccups before things get back to normal.
Its also not advisable to do big missions or go exploring until the downtimes calm down and get predictable again.
Skill queue will make it easy to nail those 2 hour skills, then just throw a long skill at the end to "buffer" the time. Then repeat when it's back up, etc etc
Of course, Caldari Cruiser IV might do the job for me quite nicely...
Of course, you're assuming the skill queue will be functioning properly. The first time. No bugs. Nope, none at all...
I'm starting a 15 day skill and reading the new Honorverse novel.
