about an hour ago (~23:20 game time) i was flicking through escrow and saw an entry marked something along the lines of 'gal covert opps frig bpo' for 100mil ... it had about 6 days 21 hours left on it so it must of been up for a few hours already
i inspected the package and saw that it was indeed an origonal with unlimited run i rubbed my eyes and started to think very hard about getting it i'm kinda tired having pulled a late night video game session at a friends house the previous night (on a side note Mashed on the X-box rules) ... i closed escrow and asked in corp chat if they thought it was worth it ...
when i opened escrow again the entry was gone since it had already been there 3 hours i didn't think it was likely to disappear in 3 more minutes so i intitialy felt bad
then it occured to me ... in corp chat i'd written that it was a Maulus print (the ship the Helios covert-opps frig is based on) ... but was that my error in chat or did i actualy see a Maulus bpo when i inspected?
this has left me very confused ... does anyone know if i was saved from losing 100mil by someone who was slightly quicker than i was? or was it actualy a Helios print?
anyways: the moral of the story is don't browse escrow while tired especialy if you have over 130mil in your wallet

there was 2 covert ops bpo's on escrow just after DT, one was for 250mill and the ither was for 350mill. Both were the proper covert ops bpo's. There was also a small ion blaster II bpo for 150mill i think.

I believe this was a scam.
Someone had a "Heron Covert Ops Frigate" BPO on escrow for 450 million...only the correct Covert Ops Frigate would have been the Buzzard...which uses the Heron hull.
Crafty little scam. Greed does tend to overwhelm sensibility in typical human behavior. It's easy to be so amazed at a "bargain" BPO price of 100 million that one might easily miss (or choose to overlook!) the details.
Frankly, I love this aspect of EVE. This universe is all about PVP...even when we're not shooting at one another.
