Devs and GM's have all skills fully trained. No players have all skills fully trained. For a player to achieve this, it would take anywhere from 20 to 30 years, depending on your attributes.
In all honesty, with half a year to a year of training, anyone can be the "best" in a given field. There's only so much SP you can have in a given field, after which there are no more skills in that field for you to train. The only skill advantage older characters have is diversity of skills, thus allowing them to do a broader array of activities well. ---

The estimates I have seen (one was from a DEV post) were around 3 years to train all skills, assuming that you optimized your training process (for example, training learning skills first to 5).
But they occasionally add new skills to the game with expansions...so technically, you will never be able to train all skills.

3 years? People who have been playing since 2003 don't even have CLOSE to all the skills maxed.

Well as someone with max implants and pretty much maxed learning skills coming up on that 3 years I can tell you for nothing they were talking out their ass (which is a type of donkey, lest anyone be fearful for the children). I am a long, long way off maxed skills. A few people have just crept over the 100million SP mark, and even they are way off being maxed out. They have probably very skewed attributes and SP towards certain specialities. To max everything out I suspect would require in excess of twice that, which puts the time requirement at around ten years plus, even assuming nothing new was added. Which it always will be.
Having said that with the new ability to respec your attributes we will all start training faster, so anything's possible. But 3 years? Not on your nellie.

I dont know how accurate it is, as I never did the math. I dont even remember who said it other than they were in blue bars.
Actually I was hoping it was wrong. 3 years is a long time, but I'd prefer if it was 30.

3 years might be a valid # for getting all skills trained to 1 (with prerequisites of course, still seems a bit short to me), but to train all of them to 5 is something like 30 according to evemon. <-------------------------------------------------> "Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former." -Albert Einstein |

You need to read the devblogs to know what is coming up in Eve.

Edited by: Tzar''rim on 25/02/2009 22:18:55 Maximum amount of SP is around 450-480 mil or something, and it always gets MORE due to new ships etc. Assuming a VERY generous 2 mil SP/month (which no one gets) it would mean 240 months equaling 20 years.
So no, no one has all skills and that's one of the reasons why being a 'vet' isn't all that, as you HAVE to specialise in stuff so younger players can, if they specialise into something, be good/better at something specific than most older players.

Yes, there is - but I can't tell you, because then it wouldn't be a secret anymore.
As for the upcoming features, have a look through the Dev blogs for the official word on the features, and the Game development forums are good for getting a players-eye-view of the changes with semi-regular Dev responses.

Was a little bored so I spent some time in Evemon clicking on skills.
Just to train all the skills from Corp Management, Drones, Electronics and Gunnery would take 2696 days (with a lot of learning skills) or around 7000 days without any learning skills.

Training all skills definitely is possible (ignoring unavailable skills), it's just the 'training all to V' part which takes so long.
Tripoli has all skills trained, he just doesn't have them all trained to V.

Right, the OP asked about anyone having "all skills trained", not "all skills trained to V". There are several players who claim that distinction. And although guys like Tripoli don't have all of these at V, when you consider how many of the skills he does have require level V in prerequisite skills, it's still a huge accomplishment. . . This. Remember that training skills doesn't take just time. Some of them can't be bought from NPCs at all and the higher rank skills can cost several billion isk. So to get all those skills you do actually have to do a lot of work, not just make a skillplan and log on once in a while to change skills.
