Dear Sirs,
I have made a little spreadsheet which you can enter your skill plan and it tells you total training time. It also has a embedded macro which then finds the optimal attributes for you (post patch).
The spreadsheet is for openoffice (3.0) and can be found SkillTraining.zip
Usage:
1) Enter your skills and current level and final level wanted in the "Training List" sheet, the first three columns.
2) On the "Attributes" sheet edit the "Basic skill" "Adv Skill" and "Implants" rows to reflect your characters learning skills and implants. (don't forget learning lvl also)
3) Click the Assign Attributes button and the Assigned row at the top will find the optimal. ( you can do it manually without macro by editing the A17:A30 cell range)
Hope you find it useful, if not, tough :-) I have a perl script which takes the exported EveMon plan and converts it to cvs for the spreadsheet. I guess I could write another basic macro though.

Umm... doesn't Evemon do this already? --- Don't take my ranting personally. I may just be arguing the topic, unless you're saying something stupid, and then I mean every word. "Players don't want Variety. They want THE BEST" |

It does not find the best attributes which minimize the training time (unless you play around with implant calculator) This is for post patch when you can reassign your attribute points.

I beg to differ. Only because loading a lengthy training plan will suggest improving the related attributes via Learning skills. So Evemon IS in fact telling you that a higher Per or Int would help with training time... but until now it hasn't been possible to improve those base stats besides Learning skills.
However, if you are dedicated enough to the game, that you'd bother making or using a spreadsheet to calculate your training times... you'd probably be able to "Show Info" on your chosen skills, and find out what stats you should be focusing on already. Or better yet, just look up any number of online guides that tell you which fields of study rely on which stats.
Good job with this whole spreadsheet thing. It's truly a monument immortalizing just how little of a life you have outside of Eve.

Wow.. seriously dude.. you got issues. Sadly, none of them appear to confer any measure of competence.
To the OP, thanks for your work and your contribution to the community.

Cool - pretty good job. I wish there was a better way to export an evemon plan into the spreadsheet, but Kudos for what you've got. Great macro, btw!
For the not-so-excel oriented, I have an alternate hack-and-slash using evemon method somewhere else.
Linkage
Seriously though, good job - the initial spreadsheet is a bit awkward, but the macro is made of win.

I just do this as I like programming and getting things to work (ie. tinkering)
SkillTraining-20090219.zip
A newer version with a macro to read in a text skill plan.
The text version of the skill plan can only be a list of the required skills, but evemon can easily export such a file (disable all options in the text export dialog)
ie:
Logic IV Repair Systems V Navigation V Caldari Frigate V Electronic Attack Ships I Electronic Attack Ships II Electronic Attack Ships III Electronic Attack Ships IV Heavy Missiles V Heavy Missile Specialization I Heavy Missile Specialization II Heavy Missile Specialization III ....
Enter the file name in the J4 cell on the Attribute sheet and press the "read plan" button. (this spreadsheet only really does useful stuff if you enable macros, otherwise it is a waste of time)

I beg to differ, all my characters have maxed out skills evemon never suggests learning any skills.
Oh, and cool sheet will be sure to have that handy to see what I need to change my attributes to. Though I have been planning more to simply pick a skill group to max out in the next 6 months and ajust my skills to that. I know borring, and not to many new things to learn btu then again (+70M skill points) I don't have that many new things I can learn anyway. ------------------------------------------- Should you disagree with me, well I guess that is because I disagree with you. If you have a problem with that please feel free not to tell me. |

I just read another post here that the latest patch on SiSi has a 12 month cooldown on the attribute-shuffle. -----------------------------------------------

Thanks for this. I would have remapped my attributes incorrectly without your sheet :)

Good job with this whole hostile criticism thing. It's truly a monument immortalizing just how inept individuals focus their hostility towards people who manage to create with their energy.
