EVE-Search is upgrading and needs your help. Currently the main database server is starting to go on its knees in terms of resources, and a minor upgrade is needed - and we need your help to do it.

So what is needed?
To serve the 40,000 daily viewers we need money for hardware upgrades. At the moment the main database server is running on a single dual core server with 6GiB RAM, the aim is to upgrade the server with another CPU and a whole lot more RAM - and if there is enough money, also replace some hard drives for faster ones to host the now 30GiB large database.

What is the goals and what is the money going to be used for?
There are two goals, one lower and one higher, depending on if we reach the higher goal we obviously will get a much better experience and more resources.

Note that the values has been exaggerated to prevent us from running short, and the real cost is most likely going to be lower.

The lower goal lands on around US$320 and consists of basically more RAM. This should improve performance as the server can cache a larger portion of the database in memory rather than direct disk access.

The upper goal is closer to US$2100 and will upgrade the server with another CPU, 32GiB RAM and SSD drives for mirror- and query/swapping databases. With these upgrades all databases will pretty much run entirely in RAM and by so have a very high query throughput.

How do I help?
You can help by donating money to EVE-Search via PayPal and also assist in spreading the word to other parties that you think may be able to help.

Do I get anything from helping out?
Of course, while it may not be much you will be displayed at the "thank you" page (if you like of course) with a message, link and/or image of your choice to drive traffic to any place you wish to use.

Current progress: Goal 1 | 100%

Current progress: Goal 2 | 62%

Please help spread the word, thank you!
