So when they saw the dev blog, they were already up-in-arms and willing to move onto the next flavor of the month.

- Also Ignorant Newbs: Not the same fake nano-pilots from the other team, these guys were taught from forum jockeys and local channel that nano pilots were invincible and unbeatable. They believe that a nano ship is the next best thing to god, and would **** themselves if they ever ran into an Arbitrator in low sec, thinking they are facing the horribly overpowered curse. Drop a word like 'Vaga' in channel, and watch their rehearsed opinions come out.

- Balance Monkeys: (I fall into this broad category) With their own preconcieved notions of how the game SHOULD work, these guys freely offer their own opinions, sometimes very crazy and odd ones, whenever a change is proposed. Some even want change for the sake of change, not really caring on which leg this supposed 'balance' is standing on. Others recognize that the nerf won't kill nano's, but will kill the pure amount of so-called nano pilots.

Genesis Project

Who argues the nano nerf? - by Ruze

Against the Nerf

- Fighter Pilots: These guys like the speed and intensity of a highly agile and fast nano ship. The constant management of TV, MWD's, range and aggro meant that they had to really focus on the fight in order to stay ahead. This style of fighting suited them, and they enjoyed it. It's also a part of EvE that has always been really lacking, as relative speed and velocity take away the ZING of combat between ships this size. Their largest complaint is that this proposed change will take away the intensity of combat they enjoy.

- Adapt or Die: Also a legitimate group, these gents recognized how effective nano's were in choosing the battlefield and managing the odds of survivability, and then trained so that they could fight back. With similar ships and modules, they look the same as other nano pilots, but their intent isn't on hit-and-run engagements, but protecting their fleet from said tactics. Their main complaint, when they aren't already planning on how to counter the next fad, is that all they've learned will be wasted.

- L33t: These guys think money solves their problems, and recognizing the benefits of having a ship that can decide when to fight and when to run, they are willing to spend outrageous amounts of isk to build the 'perfect' setup. They don't care that the economy has inflated the value of nano ships, because no price is too high. Yet, their primary complaint when viewing the nano-nerf isn't really about the changes themselves, but the isk they will lose because of the decrease in value of nano equipment.

- Expoiters: These are the players who knew how grossly one-sided a nano fleet could be, trained because they recognized how it could be used, and don't mind using an exploit as long as they win. A lot of their arguments hide behind the above stereotypes, but deep down, they know that they are just arguing in the hope of maintaining power. But, like the 'adapt or die' crowd, they are also already thinking ahead and scouting for the next powerhouse fit and flying style. Some may already have skills training to that effect.

- Ignorant Newbs: Doing more harm than good, they trained half-backed nano fits, flew them very poorly, and made up the massive numbers of nano pilots seen on the field. They lacked the skills, the ability, even the mentality for the fit, and while they may have had a lucky kill here and there, they spent more time running than fighting. They will argue against any change to this style because they consider themselves 'Real' nano pilots, but will quickly jump to the next fad when it comes out. They never stop complaining about past nerfs, though. Never.

Genesis Project
